Ehhh, I had to think about it, but I say no in the end. We cannot let Danny walk IMO.

Danny's potential is far too great. I hate "potential" as much as any Pacer fan, but this one, we cannot give away.

Athleticism would be great, but no way would I trade Danny in any deal without getting to see more of what he can do. Kid has superstar potential.

I like that lineup as well, but A.) Do not trade Danny, and B.) Do you think PHX would actually give up the Matrix?

They wouldnt give him up. 20 and 10 players dont come around often. They would not trade Matrix for that package let alone add Barbosa.

I have reservations about giving up both Peja and Danny but whatever. To those people who don't want to give up Danny...how much better than Shawn Marion do you expect Danny to get...and how soon?

No to Danny, just no... he could very well be a 20-10 player in the making, Marion is max contract, which will not help our situation. I'd see pheonix doing this deal thought, Peja and Jax would blossom in the free shooting offense of the Suns, Peja in a Pheonix offense is just scary...

I think it's not as much to do with Danny matching Marion's talent as it is the fear of Danny being a star somewhere else. Players like Danny don't often find their way to Pacerland, so, those of us who have been living here for so long (yeah, I know, a lot of you have been here A LOT longer than me), it just seems like a terrible idea to get rid of a blessing like DG.

Though, if we're talking in terms of talent, I think Danny has all the tools to be just as good (at least) as Marion. He's got a good shot from anywhere, he can take it to the basket with strength, he's a good rebounder, and a good defender. What does Marion have (other than Steve Nash) that DG doesn't have? Obviously, DG is not yet as good, but I believe he will be. When? Y'all gonna see it this year.

If they are shopping Marion this summer I would be willing to do something involving JO for Marion and barbosa or diaw. Feel free to flame me but it is just my opinion. I believe Marion can play PF in the east and this would allow us to use Peja and whoever else to get other TEAM guys or cap space.

    In a heartbeat.

Phoenix wouldn't do this, would they?
The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I'm in the camp that I'd rather trade JO for Marion and others than trade DG.

DG has the ability to be as good as Marion, and he's much younger. Plus, we know Danny is a great citizen.

OK, PF in the East means what? We'd be a good regular season team? Whoopy-freakin-doo. Marion is not a PF, he is a SF and should stay that way. I don't care if he can take Eastern Conference PFs, to win a championship he needs to be able to take Western Conference PFs as well. That is a bad idea.

As, he plays in the West who last year and started as the PHX PF, the same team that went to the WCF, I think he will be fine.
