Default Peter Griffin has given me courage...

To come out and say that I did not enjoy the "Godfather". Just boring. Did not do it for me.

Thank you Peter Griffin, you are the wind beneath my wings.

I've never enjoyed any mobster movie - Goodfellas, Scarface, Miller's Crossing, Godfather I or III, not even Mafia: The video game. Not sure why that strikes such a deep chord with some folks.

How about Blackadder II - now there's some viewing!

I suppose next you're going to say you don't like "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"?..............

I enjoyed the book The Godfather much more than the movie. I like Coppolla, Pacino, and Brando but really found the acting performances to be affected and distracting.

To say you didn't enjoy Miller's Crossing is a blashemy that shall not soon be forgotten. It is amongst the greatest movies of all time. Are you giving me the high hat!?

Maybe it's just not your type of movie.....

Hey! What're you kicking me for? You want me to ask? All right, I'll ask! Ma'am, where do the high school girls hang out in this town?

I tire of this. I vaguely recall seeing that movie once. It made no impact on me.

Where's Harmonica when you need him?

I'm sorry, but at the square table, they made a ruling on this.

According to Manlaw, if a man does not like the Godfather, he is not a man.

Finally! Someone understands! I'm barely a man!

Ask those who've met me - I'm almost a woman! A hot woman at that! I had to fend off all kinds of inappropriate come-ons from Skaut Etch! Its crazy.

Since86 walked around with me all day and never once made fun of my purse.

How can I be expected to enjoy the Godfather movies? They're boring as hell and laden with testosterone.

    The nanciest, baby!

Listen, judging these movies by post-music video standards is ridiculous.

These are considered some of the greatest movies ever made because of the believability of the world they contain. The plodding pace is intentional - every scene is "a day in the life" it's not about plot. It's about losing yourself in the lives of these characters.

There was a truth and accuracy in the first 2 Godfathers that had never EVER been seen in film before. In fact, it's very easy to consider them the great divide: there are crime stories before the Godfather, and crime stories after the Godfather. All gangster movies after them come from the position that everyone understands how the world is set up: THIS is the boss, THESE are the captains, THESE are the henchmen, etc. etc.

Middle America had never, EVER seen anything like that when the Godfather came out. The Godfather is the beginning of an entire genre.

Are the movies fading with time? Certainly. Does that make the movies less important? Hell no. Does it mean the movies are not very good? Whatsamatta wit you?!?

Is this topic starting to sound just like that Family Guy episode?

What's crazy is that you turned big daddy down. Come on! Those were some of my best lines. You can't fool me. You were getting a little moist.

See, and that is why I enjoyed the book better. The exposition on the mob heirarchy was just more interesting and expansive in text form, as was all of it really, which I guess goes without saying. Michael's face got smashed up real bad in the book, too. And we got a better view of the Don's early career.
Not saying the film was bad, just felt the book was much more immersive.

If I hadn't been so hungover, maybe I would have.

Sleeping in the backseat of your car for 3 hrs, and then getting up at 7:15 in order to be at the city building really had me hurting.

Not to mention the walk to Kirkwood.

I've never even seen the Godfather, at least not all the way through. Never seen Scarface, either (except the ending). I've never been too big on gangster flicks.

    Your daughter's a sexual predator....
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.
