Don't get me wrong here either, I think Marion is a great player. He's just not a PF IMO. I'd trade SJax and Peja and a 1st in a heartbeat. We'd be able to retain Danny, and have an All-Star teach him stuff about the position (just not the jumpshot). Once again though, the problem with Danny getting PT arises.

Let it go, man. I agree, most 6'8" guys with his build cannot play PF in the NBA, but the fact is that he's been doing it for 2 years and excelling at it. Truly, the only disadvantage to playing Marion at PF is that a very good shooting PF would be able to shoot over the top of him. The only PFs of that mold who come to mind are Dirk, Tim Duncan, and KG, all of whom are in the West. To make it short? The proof is in the pudding.

However, any way you slice it, getting Marion means Carlisle MUST GO. If you keep JO, he slides to C, Marion to PF, and hopefully Danny at SF, or if you trade JO, Marion at PF and Danny at SF. Regardless, that's not the kind of team you want Carlisle coaching.

Oh, and again, giving up Danny (who is capable of being a 20-10 guy himself) and Peja, and Jackson (who does have a little value), for Marion is too much. We'd be hiring D-leaguers to play SG.

Would he fit in with us since we play a slower game than the Suns?

Shawn Marion is capable of playing a half-court game. He would just slash in for that runner instead of getting alley-oops all game.

Yeah, because is a STAR defending the taller SG's in the leagues. I don't want to see Freddie starting, back up, ok, but that's it. Sending away Peja and getting a marginally talented player back would be a major mistake IMO.

Leandro was horrible at PG he didn't shine until he played at SG. Maybe we can do an even trade Jackson for Leandro.

    Robertmto,

It's simple for most of us,

1)Danny's our favorite player and we don't want to trade him.
2)As Eindar said, Danny is a great citizen, which is refreshing with this team.
3)He has the potential to be as good as Marion.

Now if a Danny trade would guarantee us an NBA championship then we would have to consider it, but NBA championships can't be guaranteed, so no deals for Danny.
