Well right now they're down 6 with 14 seconds left in OT.

If they don't win the next game, I think they'll win one next year.....IF they make the playoffs.

West did a great job putting the original group together, made a team that went 10-12 deep and then sat on his hands while everyone waited for him to pull a big move that would make them a contendor. He hasn't, and now a lot of the assets he stockpiled have left, and they're sitting in the middle of the draft and not getting impact players. Being in NBA purgatory is hell...well, you know what I mean.

The Grizzlies are a really good team, they have just been screwed by the seeding system and now have to face one of the top 3 teams in the league in the first round despite being the 4th best team in the Western Conference and thereby the 5th or 6th best team in the league.
They should be playing the Clippers or Nuggets with home court advantage and i am sure they would win that series!
Now they look bad just because they play a Dallas team with all their important players back and the REAL MVP simply being too good.

I hadn't thought of it that way, but that's a pretty good summation, in my book. He never made that big move.

Hell, look at their roster from just 2003-04 season (along with salary):

    Bonzi Wells ................ $7,000,000
    Lorenzen Wright ............ $6,600,000
    Bo Outlaw .................. $6,585,000
    Michael Dickerson .......... $6,187,500 [released 10/27/03]
    Jason Williams ............. $6,187,500
    James Posey ................ $4,917,000
    Stromile Swift ............. $4,592,418
    Mike Miller ................ $3,380,457
    Pau Gasol .................. $2,618,395
    Shane Battier .............. $2,533,440
    Jake Tsakalidis ............ $1,580,702
    Earl Watson ................ $1,336,500
    Troy Bell .................. $1,285,440
    Ryan Humphrey .............. $1,143,360
    Dahntay Jones .............. $1,063,680
    Theron Smith ............... $366,931

Just a few years ago, I'm sure they could have pulled off some type of BIG move. Look how many guys are gone. Look how many are with other teams.

I agree though, ballinhoop about teh seeding. They aren't a bad team, but like us, they have a bunch of Robins (to borrow and analogy), but no real Batman.
Hey! What're you kicking me for? You want me to ask? All right, I'll ask! Ma'am, where do the high school girls hang out in this town?
