Well, I told myself I was done spending money on the Pacers this year. After their win in Game 1 and their decent performance in Game 2 (despite the score, and the loss), I reconsidered. I managed to talk my wonderful wife into letting me go, so a friend and I got balcony tickets for $35 each (Sec. 226, Row 3) and headed down to Indy.
We got there early enough that we had to wait about 10 minutes for the doors to open, which is just how I like it. The whole 90 minutes before game time to explore all that Conseco has to offer. It doesn't matter how many games I go to, I can always find something new and cool to enjoy. As long as it is possible, I will continue to get to the game as close to doors opening as possible.
This was the best game I've been to since we beat the Pistons in Game 3 last year. I won't go into my thoughts about the game as most of them have already been posted in the Odd Thoughts thread by other posters.
Now all I have to do is figure out a way to talk my wife into letting me go back down tomorrow afternoon!!
On to the pictures....
Sometimes this season I wasn't sure that we would need to hang this banner this year...
Saras, Danny, Eddie, and AJ were playing a game of messing with each other during 3 pt. attempts...If you made your shot, you moved to the up the line about 10 feet for the next shot. Danny and Eddie made three in a row, nobody else made more than one. It was goofy fun to watch....
Jack was a team leader last night. With the attitude he had last night, I wouldn't mind keeping him around. I can live with a "bad" game from him every once in a while, if 4 out of 5 games he plays and acts like he did last night. You were a big key to the game last night, Jack. Keep it up!
JO was ready to play, obviously....
My wife would like to have this job....I hope JO stays healthy, we obviously are a much more dangerous team when he is.
Preach it brother, preach it...
You could just tell he was going to be money all night...
Despite HardHat Guy knowing what was going on, the Nets got the ball back...
These kids had it goin' ON.....For their ages, they were in great time with each other...Very entertaining!
Cro's missed dunk...
Was it just me, or could they have put the ramp a little more towards the middle so as not to scare the crap out of the fans sitting in the landing zone?? They constantly had to brake like crazy as soon as they hit the down ramp to keep from plowing into somebody...
MagicRat and his adorable daughter were sitting a few seats away, so that helped keep me from being Bad Joe fan...There were some half drunk military guys behind us who needed to heed the warning though. Glad we all gave them a standing ovation earlier in the game. I didn't think they acted very honorably at times, but they probably had a lot of steam to blow off...You guys get a pass....this time.
AAAHHH! What do I do??!!! My feet are in cement shoes, and I forget how to shoot!!!
AJ sneaking in for a layup...
Jefferson's game consists of flying into the lane, putting a knee in the nuts, a forearm across the chest and throat, and throwing up a playground shot...I usually like the guy, but not when he's playing us!
JO going UPSTAIRS!
I really hated to see Carter get beat down...Oh wait, I mean the opposite of that...He went down like his nose got splatted against his face. I half expected to see a bunch of blood when he got up...He was mysteriously JUST FINE after the timeout...Hmmm...peculiar.
JO got all those calls because he complained and got fined, not because they were actually fouling him or anything....
My definition of post defense. Keep this stuff up and we win the series!
Pretty formidable to go up against!!
Later, the Pacemates were passing out the freebies. They weren't there when WE came in....
To all the Lindsay fans, she is VERY sweet and was nice to talk to. She ABSOLUTELY looks much better in person and up close. All photos I've taken of her don't do her justice. Thanks Lindsay!!
