The Mentalist season finale was amazing. I love that show even though it gets bad at times when they aren't on the main story arc.

    The Chicago Code series finale.

I'm still bummed this is over, but I got a satisfying ending.

Watched the season finale of Modern Family last night.

I cannot wait to watch the Gettysburg show that was on the History Channel last night. I am Pre World War 1 military nut. Anything to do with French and Indiana War, War of 1812, American Revolution, Civil War, or Spanish American War I just eat up.

I've been watching season 1 of The Borgias and it is really really good so far. Only 2 episodes in, but so far it is delightfully wicked.

It makes me really glad I live in 2011.

Just finished season 5 episode 12 of Lost. Not at all where I thought the show would go, but things are interesting. Not sure why the smoke monster allowed Ben to live. Even though he swore to follow John and not try to kill him.

Not sure why the island thinks so highly of John. Wonder if the island thinks so highly of Jack as well.

The questions are really piling up.

My favorite show as of this moment. Saw the episode that aired sunday night in the States just now. Absolutely brilliant show. Love the whole atmosphere and cinematography not too mention the storyline and how it's told.

I read somewhere that the (Danish) show that it's based upon is supposed to be even better. Well... I wouldn't know, but I have to say I LOVE this one .

Together with "Grey's Anatomy", "The Killing" is the only show in years that I have started following on a weekly basis for years. I love watching a season of something in about a week or something. HATE having to waite a week, but these two shows.... so worth it.

Again, like UB wrote, really good show. Go see it. NOW! DAMMIT!

Falling Skies. Decent (and sorta novel) storyline and nice special FX for a TV show. I'm hooked.

BTW, Walking Dead Season 2 begins in October. Wish we didn't have to wait that long...

The Killing (We talking about the same finale, UB?) season finale, better yet the last one and the bottle episode before that, was utter ****. I was okay with it around episode five, thinking it could go somewhere. It had some moments, but the end of the season just shows it is not only poorly conceived, but terribly executed. The Walking Dead was solid, not great, but this really has to **** with AMC reputation. Simmons vents here.

I know there has been a ton of criticism of the way the season ended, and I never suggested the show was an alltime classic (The Wire) but I think it is really good. The finale I loved, they had the guts to go against conventional wisdom and not reveal who the killer was, although they did effectively eliminate a couple of suspects. Cannot wait until next season.

I suppose maybe I enjoy the show on a different level than some do. Sure I want to know who did it, but I love the pace of the show, the character development and the overall tone is just perfect. If you want to see simply a murder mystery you can watch CBS any night of the week.

Overall quality is not as good as Mad Men, Breaking Bad and a few others, but I enjoy the way the show is.

My problem with the finale wasn't how it ended it was that they made the female detective act out of character.

When she went to confront the Councilman the second time in the office at night alone I thought I was watching one of those Law & Order SVU episodes where you get to give a speech to the killer so they know you know & you have moral high ground.

Just didn't fit with where the show was all season IMO.

Also I thought the entire finding the shoe in the field thing seemed kind of contrived as well, can't say why for 100% certainty but it just didn't feel right to me.

Other than that though I thought it was a great show & I'm thrilled it's being brought back.

While I honestly can't imagine thinking that was a good episode (AV Club gives a much better thought out review than mine. ), that's fine. People enjoy different things. I'm calling BS on this point though.

This was their main promo poster.

Look at AMC's site for the show. It's all "Suspect Tracker" this, check out the victim's room that. Not a lick about the characters. The finale was purported to be all about the case. The way it ended wasn't brave or original, it just proved that the writers and showrunner had no ****ing idea what they were doing. They tried to do a serial mystery drama on the fly and simply couldn't. See the interview here with the deluded exec producer here (The 'Mad Men' 'Breaking Bad' comment will make you fight a coworker.).

I'm not trying to convince you to change your feelings on the show; it has some great cinematography, three or four really strong actors especially Kinnaman, and lots of rain. But to call it gutsy with strong character development is an insult to the writers, directors, and producers who work hard, deliver on their promises and make good stuff. Argh, I could use some Fassbender in Argentina right about now.

I'll say up front that I've only watched the first two episodes, but from what I've read about this show, I think the writer's had at least strongly considered this possibility, as opposed to 'no ****ing idea what they were doing.'

Don't get me wrong, that could be the case, but I can envision a writer or team of writers coming up with a multi-season arc to tell the tale of one big, twisting, hard-to-solve case.

Much like not every case gets solved "in an episode" in real life, some don't get solved for years. Maybe that's what they were going for.

I just don't think you have the option to plan multi-seasonally unless you're a JJ Abrams or a David Simon, who have earned their cocksureness. Sud seems like she announced even before getting renewed that the show could become a dynasty and go five, six, seven seasons if it wanted to...

Mad Men and Breaking Bad blew viewers away with their first seasons and this show seems to be riding the coattails. I don't know, I'm not sure why I came off as so upset. Henceforth it is dropped.

Moving on to Game of Thrones. The pilot had some fantastic world building (and you can't beat those HBO budgets.) but I was not quite totally engaged. I'll keep going.

Also, about to order Louie on blu-ray. New season begins tomorrow. I'm stoked.
