I've started watching Arrested development. I remember trying to watch this when it first came on TV and just didn't get it. However I think I tried to come on board after about 3 episodes, which of course is why producers push for TV shows to be episode driven instead of giant story arcs.

Anyway now having started watching from the beginning this show is very entertaining.

Bub's in Carmel. Tried the Big Ugly Burger Challenge. 42,000 people have tried to eat the 4 1.5 pound burgers (no time limit), but none have won.

Last nights episode of Mad Men may have been the best episode ever.

They need to take it easy with the secretary, though. The first couple of jokes were funny but it's starting to detract from the tone of the show. Also, at what point do they just recognize that Don needs a better secretary?

Yea that sec. does not fit in with the character that Don is. He would not tolerate that behavior from others and thus I don't see why he would tolerate it from her either.

BTW, I thought the Sterling character was magnificant last night and there were several puns that he threw out that were just pure gold.

    Agreed on all points.

I bought that Joan would punish him like this but I doubt he'd take it for more than a day.

By the way, I think the Pete Campbell character is perhaps the most well done out of all the characters. He's grown up so much and, yet, so naturally. Whereas I think Peggy's transition hasn't been very smooth-in spite of the large breaks between years-Pete's has been very well executed. I thought his standing up to Roger was just brilliant.

I also hate everything that's going on with Faye. Why is she even hanging around at this point? And why so much? I really, really hope that she and Don don't hook up. It just seems too obvious.

    Agreed.

BTW, absolutely correct also about Pete. In fact his standing up to Roger and the way that it was done may have been some of the finest moments of the entire series. And when he left and Drapper said "he's right" it really topped it off perfectly and the monotone deadpan delivery was brilliant.

That's SO funny you said that. I've been catching up on Degrassi, The Boiling Point. (I just got done watching a couple of episodes) I've watched that show off and on for YEARS. One of my strange, guilty pleasures. Glad to know I'm not the only one to fess up. . For a show aimed at teens, if they only knew a 40 something, married guy ahs been a faithful watcher for years....lol
How do you feel about The Boiling Point now? Letdown?

Funny, you said that cause, yeah, I was. Essentially nothing really happened. Not to be morbid, but it would have been interesting to see how the school dealt with a stabbing. And once Riley came out, he got no real grief. The whole thing just felt like it building to something, then kinda fizzled out.
Hey! What're you kicking me for? You want me to ask? All right, I'll ask! Ma'am, where do the high school girls hang out in this town?

    Persons Unknown

The show certainly had its ups and downs, but the ending was pretty awesome. I loved Renbe asking Joe, "Where's my wife?" No matter how much he may deny it, there's still a connection there, at least for him. I love the idea of those two fighting it out in there own scenario.

Of course, that's never gonna happen. It was obvious from day one that this show was never gonna make it past 13. I'm just glad that, like Kings before it, NBC stuck it out and showed the whole thing (even if that included dumping one episode online.) I know the ratings must be utter **** for these limited run shows, but I still really appreciate them.

Lastly, how creepy was that extreme closeup of Janet's lips and skin? Talk about great use of HD.

Just finished season #4 of Lost. On to season #5.

I don't get into too much of the sci-fi aspects of the show or the reasons why something is happening or trying to put everything together. I just love the human drama part of the show. I do wonder how they get away with spending so much money on one TV show.

Emmmy's last night. I've never watched Mad Men , at least not yet, so I don't know if it is better than Lost, Breaking Bad, Damages or Dexter. But I will say if it is better, I can't wait to watch it. Really happy Modern Family won

I'm on episode 5 of season 3 of Veronica Mars.

I don't hate it as much as I was led to believe that I would. It's not exactly the same caliber of the the first two seasons but so far I don't hate it.

I actually think that the Veronica Mars character is probably the best female protagonist I have ever seen on TV. Very smartly written show and character.

I am also over half way done with season 1 of Andromeda and I will also say that much to my suprise I don't only ejoy the show I really like it. RHW has taken characters that I thought I would hate and made me for the most part really like them. I don't love the engineer but other than him I like the rest of the crew very well.
