I know a lot of you have given up on 24 but I still really like the show. Nice start to the season. Sure the plots and character development have always been paper thin and often times if you look back or forward a few eposides it doesn't always make sense. But in the moment it is still highly entertaining and a lot of fun

    Chuck! Entertaining as always
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

I thought Chuck ended last season really well. But the first (I guess) the first 4 hours of this season has been IMO boring

question about Big Bang theory - i've never watched an episode yet but i just wanna know what type of comedy is it? similar to HIMYM? Two and a half men? friends? scrubs? everybody loves chris? everybody hates chris? would appreciate your input to see if its worth checking out

It is probably most similar to Two and a Half Men in style as the same "showrunner" does both shows.

I've never really liked Two and a Half Men, although it is somewhat amusing at times, but I don't like it in large doses. Big Bang Theory is better, although I still claim that it was better last season - a little less manic and the characters were more grounded last season - IMO

BBT is an excellent show, you should check it out, give it 2 or 3 episodes though and see if you like it. Comedy is very subjective, so who knows

I am (very) late to the game here, but The Wire is phenomenal. I can't get enough of it.

The first season has been uneven -- some funny eps and then some nazzo funny stuff. Generaly a good formula for the showrunners to follow would be "Less Chevy Chase = More funny".

Oh, and Donald Glover is an inspiration.

I love Derrick Comedy so it's great to see DG get some network recognition!

Yup. I'm hoping Mystery Team eventually makes it to DC.

The Leno / NBC / Conan fiasco inspired me to go back and watch The Larry Sanders Show. It's a shame they've only ever released one complete season out of the six.

They don't have complete seasons, but they have some shows from Seasons 2 & 3 on Hulu.

Haven't had regular net access since I moved at the end of November so I haven't been rocking Hulu as much as I used to. Hopefully I'll be resolving that this week. Thanks for the info, though.

As for the Amazon link, that's It's Gary Shandling Show. Same fella, same uber creative title, but different show (though, also enjoyable). Think Bob Newhart Show vs Newhart.

    A for effort!

Yeah...I put a search in for Larry Sanders, and that came up like second on the list, so I didn't even double check...I just assumed it was the show I searched (though I knew about both shows, I just didn't check).

    Sorry about that.

GS show was on Fox wasn't it...he had like a beach house or something?

It began on Showtime but was picked up by FOX sometime during that run. It didn't do quite as well on broadcast.

Skins! British show I absolutely love no matter what characters they're writing about. I'm very excited about this 4th season and going forward.

Dollhouse finale. A plus! If you never watched this show, watch the unaired pilot, epitaph one and then the second season, you'll really like it!

Dexter season 4 episode 1. Andrea and I finally got around to starting this. Very promising and won't wait that long to keep watching.

Watched all of Modern Family a couple nights ago. It's well constructed and I care about the characters. It's normally not laugh out loud funny but it's good. Cameron is the only one that really gets me laughing a lot.

Pig - I laugh out loud every week at Modern Family - several times every week

I watched Damages for the first time (season 3 premiere) Great show I'm hooked and cannot wait for the next episode. Great to know I can go back and watch seasons 1 and 2. Anyone else watch this show??

I watched the first two seasons. It is a very good show, but I think Rose Byrne is incredibly weak as a lead (or co-lead).

It's not on a par with The Wire or Deadwood, or even Dexter, but it's still a pretty good show. Worth watching the first two years.

I'm assuming because I feel like I'm right up-to-speed on what is going on that I don't need to have watched the first two seasons to fully enjoy this third season

They are likely to bring back a lot of issues and characters. It is a serial drama.

The last show I watched was "Spartacus: Blood and Sand". 300 meets Gladiator meets really cheesy effects.

Still, if you like naked people and sword fighting, you'll like this show.

I figured she wasn't one of the main characters - just one of the many side characters. Yeah she isn't a great actress.
