I forgot all about that. Suppose Omar was all I remembered in that dept - plus Omar is the best character on that show - and the scene where he testified was the best scene (was that in season 3 or 1 or maybe it was 2.
Omar testifying was in Season 2.

That's by far my favorite scene in the entire series. There's nothing even close. So much greatness. In fact, that's my favorite episode of all five seasons.

Season 5 is indeed the worst, UB. But that doesn't mean it's not a Top 20 season of any show ever. Bottom line: Sub-par Wire is still better than the apex of almost any other series.

Watched the second episode of Eastbound & Down. Wow. This is gonna be great. Gonna hafta go back and watch the first one now. Will Ferrell plays a minor role.

OK...this is reaching back through time to something I had never seen:

    American Gothic

It's from around 1995 with Gary Cole playing the Evil (capital "E") sheriff of a small southern town. It's got that kid that played every down south juvenile in the '90's, and a few other character actors you'd probably recognize, including a youngish Sarah Paulson (Studio 60, Serenity).

It's a supernatural thriller, and I've only watched the first two episodes, but it's kind of captivating. The acting is somewhat stilted, and the cuts are pretty odd, but I think I'm going to like it (depending on how many strings were left hanging at the end of its one and only season). It's got 22 eps, but to this point, I think it probably would've been canned by the networks within the first month. Perhaps the first two eps were meant to be a two-parter or a pilot movie, but neither one of them had an encapsulated story. The entire show thus far, seems to be serialized, as if it's sole purpose is to tell one story arc. I'll be interested to see if there are any "stand alone" episodes later.

One other thing that struck me as funny: the credits listed Shaun Cassidy as its creator.
Well as you can tell by my current avatar I am a Gothic fan. Lucas Buck is the most original and entertaining character ever on Network TV and the show to me ranks up there next to DS9 as my all-time favorite.

This show was victim of horrible network manipulation and frankly being ahead of it's time. If this show would have come along even just 4 or 5 years later it could have been on one of the startup cable/satalite channels like Scifi.

However as it was we were screwed by being on the "touched by an angle" network. Moved time slots and days from week to week and then not brodcasting for weeks on end, not to mention showing shows out of order.

I would be very interested to hear what you have to say after you have seen it all.

In all honesty it would probably be considered corny by many people and frankly I think it is a show that you either are going to love it or hate it.

    U2 week on Letterman.

I haven't watched Letterman in forever. And now I remember why. Poor guy lost his edge about $100 milllion ago.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Season 4 finale of the Wire is all that's left and the first disc of season five came today, almost done.

    Anyone watching 24?

This season reminds me now of Vince Flynn's Transfer of Power novel.

No surprise that Flynn is a consultant for the show and Jack Bauer is based on the Mitch Rapp character.

Watched Castle last night - just happened to flip to ABC and saw Nathan Fillion.

It was surprisingly good. Somewhat predictable plot line but the dialogue was sharp and witty and it managed to keep me amused. I'll watch it again - if they can avoid falling into the redundancy trap it may work.

Figured out how to watch Heroes. Came home from a meeting and caught the last 20 minutes of the ep - I feel like I saw everything that mattered from the episode. If I just watch the last third from this point on I can avoid the torturously slow movement to nowhere that seems to envelope the 1st half of each episode. Though it would be nice if the writers didn't assume the audience were such idiots.

No, that's just 'cause it's the premier, the rest are a standard 40 minutes.

Dexter- season 1 episode 12 (finale)

Boy is Dexter amazing. It's so addicting. And one of these days, I won't watch it right before I sleep...
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

Eastbound & Down is the most hilarious show I have ever watched. Nothing but hilarious quotes from that show. Kenny Powers is my HERO!

I will also have to add that celebrity apprentice has also been pretty entertaining. Im rooting for Tom Green or Rodman.

Just watched this. It's amazing how much mileage you can get out of smart dialogue and good characters. I'm a huge Nathan Fillion fan. He just does such a great job of carrying a show without overpowering. He's eminently likeable. Also liked the Beckett character.

Kegboy had me convinced I was the only one who liked it.

I also watched ER (because of the former cast members coming back). The only other episode I've watched in years was when Mark Green was back. That show used to be so good.

The Wire season 5 episodes 1-6: good, but I can see why people thought this season was weaker than some of the others.

Dollhouse: Favorite one so far and next one looks like the show is about to start kicking.

Jim Cramer on the Daily Show. Love Jon Stewart.

Attack of the Show on G4, my daily fix for geekery.

    HIMYM: Good one.

    Castle: So far so good.

24: First season I've managed to follow for some time. Pretty good.

Just watched the first episode of Kings, because....uh, Al Swearingen....you know, that guy....was on it. Won't watch another. If the show had a military advisor, they
must have ignored him or her.

I think the Sarah Connor Chronicles is the best thing on tv right now.

More Kenny Powers. Great, great stuff.

The last two HIMYMs. Both were pretty good due to Barney's infallible greatness, but this Karen chick is even worse than Stella. What is it with chicks from other sitcoms showing up as love interests for Ted Mosby: Architect to eff up this show?

A couple of Offices. Still good.

The Apprendice - I have no explanation as to why I like this show. Interesting to watch Dennis Rodman - easy to see why he was such a bad teammate
