Started watching House of Cards last night. Liked the first two eps and then got completely hooked by the third episode which I thought was just fantastic.
Is it only available through Netflix? What would you compare the show to?

Yes, it's only available through netflix. It's one of their original series.

I would compare to The West Wing meets The Sopranos. I'm not saying it's as good as either of those shows, but it's got the high production value, the politics, and the shadiness. So far it doesn't have the great ongoing character interaction of a show like the west wing, but I could see it growing to that point possibly. It's also got some great dark humor that I enjoy.

There's a TV series based on the Wes Craven movie?
It was a movie I think, unless they find a way to bring back the dead bad people as zombies or something like that.

I like Orange is the new black even though I think I could leave without the main character's drama, I don't like her, give me more "porn mustache" and more "red" and I'm good.

Watching 'Spaced' on Netflix now. I'm a huge Simon Pegg/Edgar Wright/Nick Frost fan. Have never had the chance to watch this, I'm 3 episodes in. Enjoying it so far.

Kind of got bored after episode 6, for someone so manipulative how did Kevin Spacey's character not know what would happen when he stopped his affair. It just seems all the shows problem would end, if the guys kept their dick in their pants.

Agreed. The secondary characters are way more interesting than the main character. She's also the cause of literally all her problems, so I don't sympathize for her.

If Rhaegar kept it in his pants he's the king with the heir. Of course, the lack of the Stark children (since Brandon would have married Catelyn) would also potentially doom the entire world, so it's a fair trade.

Again I have to state this, I am watching Buffy the Vampire slayer for the first time so often times I am shocked when I see actors/actresses today that I am watching from almost 16 years ago for the first time.

Tonight I had another horrific realization and I didn't even catch it at all until my wife & I were trying to figure out who a person was in a commercial for a new series on STARZ. Out in the crowd sets a very elderly looking Anthony Stewart Head (Giles).

But that is not what got me, what got me was that I immediately recognized him as Giles and my wife (who refuses to watch Buffy with me) immediately recognized him as Uther Pendragon from Merlin.

Needless to say you could have knocked me over with a feather as it never once struck me that he played both parts.

Call it a kids movie if you want, but How To Train Your Dragon was legitimately good. I'm excited for the second one.

A mod can move these, but I am excited for How to Train Your Dragon 2. The first one is a really enjoyable animated movie. Moreso than most of the Pixar fair for me, just because it's not quite as heavy.

Look for one of the Avengers in Angel Season 1. I was shocked to realize it was that person when I re watched that episode many months ago; my prior viewings were before I knew who the actor was.

I finished Orange is the New Black last night. I thought that was a very good show. Season 2 will make or break it, though. I don't know, but it strikes me as the kind of show that had a lot of good ideas but I wonder how many more it can have for a second season when we've already met a lot of the characters and their histories.

This pulled me off of Season 3 of Deadwood, which I will probably resume today. I was only 2 or 3 episodes in.

I guess I'll also mention that I'm re watching Breaking Bad Season 2 with Roaming Gnome since he'd never seen it. He was lukewarm at best to Season 1, but I suspect he may like this season better so far. We're four episodes in, and I think we'll be able to get a few more in next week.

Lol it was quite shocking to me too.

I didn't realize Laura Prepon (DONNA!!! From that 70s show..) was in Orange is the New Black. I may try to watch a few episodes because of that.

I think I'm about to be sucked into watching the repeat of the vma's. I may be the only person who feels this way, but I find crazy/stripper Miley amusing. Also..N'sync.

Dexter is so dumb now, please just release all 3 episodes so I can just see the ending.

    Spoiler Spoiler:
You take that back about Jesse after tonight? This was my favorite episode of the series. You kind of knew it was coming but the episode was so well done. Excited to see what happens next week was a killer hanging ending to the episode.

I miss Gus though. He was a great character. Bball isn't Hank setting up the meeting/conference call to tell them it is his brother-in-law. or am I wrong about that
And like I predicted.... It won't be what we think but it'll make total sense after it happens. Great writing.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.
