Community's "Pillows and Blankets" - Might be their best episode ever. (Definitely need to rewatch and reevaluate to determine fully.) The high-concept parody was pitch perfect (Keith David!), the war references were great (Britta's borrowed camera!), and it really brought to a head (though didn't conclude) a surprisingly emotional part of the show. For the most adamant fans, perhaps the emotional core of the show. I guess this kind of episode turns some people off, but to me it's the essence of why this show needs to exist. Because it makes me think, "Holy ****, they can do that with a TV show?" Don't be like Chevy, watch the show. Troy and Abed taking phone calls!

One more episode of The Walking Dead remaining. What a good season!

Wonder if it's because I was able to watch them all without waiting week to week. It's harder to notice a bad episode when you can skip right to the next one. I love waiting a few weeks so I can watch multiple episodes of shows back to back to back to back etc. It sucks when you have to wait a week and the episode isn't that great. Or when there is a cliff hanger and you have to wait a week. I'm an impatient person

While I appreciate the concept, from a pure entertainment standpoint, the paintball episodes are far better IMO.

Yes, Die Hard, Star Wars, and Sergio Leone are generally more entertaining than a Ken Burns documentary.

It wasn't just the documentary style though, typically speaking I base a good portion of the quality of a comedy episode on the laughs, odviously, and for me at least, the laughs just weren't there in comparison to a lot of there other episodes...

So far I am very impressed with this season of Mad Men.

However, and I know I am about to draw wrath here, so far I have not been impressed at all by the Game of thrones this year. Not sure why exactly, I know they have to develop characters and all but frankly it has just been quite boring. I fear they may be trying to expand the cast to much and might have been better off focusing on just a few of the kingdoms and beyond the wall.

Again there have only been two episodes so I know that I'm not giving it a lot of time and I'm sure it will get better but I think these first two have just drug on.

Game of Thrones was great last night.
    Spoiler Spoiler:

Also very mad that a new episode of Bob Burgers was not on last night! The last episode was hilarious. Do they really think people are not home on Easter Sunday evening watching TV? I also imagine that CBS will dick around with How I met your mother this week too. I can't stand one new episode every month it seems.

I have like 11 Episodes of Walking Dead to watch on my DVR. I just can't bring myself to watch it at night. Not that its ooooh scary. But it gets my mind thinking too much about the idea of a zombie apocalypse. For instance, would Island Nations and such be affected? I can't imagine Zombies making it all the way to Hawaii, Barbados, Fiji? Have to be somebody bitten prior to boarding the flight, what are the chances? Especially considering the escalating timeline of events. There would only be a small time frame for something like that to happen.

Game of Thrones - caught the first 2 episodes but im pretty sure i actually fell asleep midway in both of them...not because they were that horrible but i was exhausted when trying to watch - in any case though I feel a bit out of the loop at the moment with the influx of all the somewhat new characters? I've decided to go back to season 1 and watch it again as I feel a bit out of the loop...which is weird as this never happened to me with any other show before...

Caught the latest episode of Mad Men - they're definitely making up for missing the episodes last year - its been an amazing start to the season so far...can't wait to see what is going to happen.

    The Legend of Korra -

The first two episodes are free on iTunes right now. As an unabashed fan of the original series (which is on Watch Instant), it's pretty much impossible for me to not love this. Nonetheless, they have still got it. The animation is absolutely gorgeous, like better than Ghibli gorgeous. The new characters are great, and the way they efficiently build the world from feudal Japan in ATLA to the steampunk 20s in the current series is fantastic. Are there some worries about certain plot elements, pitfalls, and Nickelodeon dumbing it down? Sure. But I just have too much faith in these two dudes that they'll continue to make amazing animation and storytelling. I feel like a kid again.

Honestly, I felt the same way watching the first season the first time. If we're getting to the middle/end of the run and payoff still feels too distant, then it's time to worry a little more. Maybe, for some, it's a better show watched over the course of a few nights rather than every week as it airs. The only thing I would worry about (and pretty much everyone has said this, so I'm not popping any cherries) is HBO intervention i.e. the gratuitous porno sex from this past episode.

No doubt. I just found the emotionality of this past episode extremely effective, while laughing quite a bit too. I could go back and watch the paintball shows at any time though. Two-parters FTW!

Can't wait to DL the new Avatar episodes.

Loved the series! Wish anime directors can take note on how to end an anime series in style. I love anime, but the endings are almost always so weird or just really fall flat.

Skipped the movie cause I heard it was awful.

I honestly think it's worth watching, just for how remarkably terrible it is. Not sure there's even been a movie with so much going for it (huge budget, amazing source material) that ended up being so bad. It's a fantastic lesson in how not to adapt source material. Makes you appreciate the show that much more.

Btw, from now on, please refer to the movie as "M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender" for purposes of posterity.

Oh, the new Korra eps are on Nick too, in case you don't want to have to use iTunes.

Season finale of Justified - That last two thirds of the episode are as good as anything this show has done before. The last line, which I don't think is a reference to the recent Chris Rock stage play , was as jarring as any so far this year. Raylan feels like the new Clint Eastwood figure, except much more down on his luck. Overall, the season wasn't as strong as the previous one. The family politicking with the Bennetts was just better realized than the villain combo of Limehouse and Quarrells. Still a great show, especially on Tuesday nights.

First 2 episodes of Legend of Korra are free to DL on iTunes. Snatched those up and I'll watch this weekend.

Watched the new episode of Chopped. Love that show.

Tonight I'll be watching the season finale of Psych. Man, can't believe it's the finale already. Great show!

My son and daughter watch Avatar. I'm sure I will see every episode of the new one before long. Nick and Nicktoons will play the s%*t out of it. No need to rush them, I will see them in do time.
On a side note, Avatar is a good cartoon, but just not after watching each epsiode 100 times.

Psych's season finale was quite the shocker. I was like, that was it? How could this be the season finale. And the last minute comes along and blam!

Girls - The pilot, which I'm pretty sure is on YouTube, was very good, but this second episode was one of the best I've ever seen. Dunham's show is most comparable to Louie, I suppose, though the personality flaws in these younger protagonists are much more highlighted. As a twenty-something, it's rare that something both realistic and good comes on about us. Braver and funnier than anything Apatow has ever done, though he'll still attach his name to it. Trying really hard to not say anything about the backlash...sexism.

Veep - If you've seen In The Loop, you kind of know what to expect from Iannucci. If not and if you're not a poli-satire junkie, this probably won't appeal to you. The jokes are as tightly packed as any show on right now. J L-D was great as usual; Matt Walsh stood out, especially with his Tom Hanks line. I think it may fall into similar trappings that ITL did with not being relatable or complete enough, but as far as sharp, smart comedies go, it looks very promising. What an amazing pairing of back-to-back shows!
