I absolutely love that show. I will be sad when it comes to an end. Neat how they are now tying it into Hitchcock's famous movie. Hopefully Freddie Highmore will find another popular show after this one. Don't have to worry about Vera. She is one of the busiest around.
I hope he gets nominated for his performance this season. He has been doing a great job with a role that just hit hyperdrive!

Still watching TWD and next week is the season finale. I'm assuming they learned a lesson about last year's cliffhanger about how not to do a cliffhanger, so we shall see.

That all said, I think the show has lost its way quite a bit even though some of the new characters themselves are doing a great job. Pacing and writing really seems to be suffering.
I wonder if it could be due to one or two things (or both)....
#1 The writers have no idea what the endgame is. Kirkman may know (or claim to) but that doesn't mean he's shared it with the writers. So they meander along with no compass to follow.
#2 They are trying too hard to follow the comics in framework, yet fit it into their 16 episode season, so they end up needing to s t r e t c h some things to get to their desired 16th episode of the season and the point in the show they want to be for that episode. With better, more creative thinking and writing this might not be a problem. But TWD hasn't really had super creative writing since S1 IMO.

I'll add that Darabont's idea to make the zombie's smarter and thus more of a threat would've allowed them to carry out that drama deeper into the series. But he was canned after just over a season so that ship has sailed.
I also know Kirkman claims to not want to explore the Zombie Apocalypse origins but I have to wonder if that is also hurting the writing. Obviously, it takes it off the table as far as a plot point, but more importantly does it hinder the writers not having that knowledge to build stories off of as far as a framework? A foundation? Could they be more creatively focused if they had a better idea of the early stages and what happened, even if they don't reveal it?

I still think the lack of an endgame causes them to meander rather aimlessly on plots, and an inability to go away from the printed page too much hinders them in trying to fit the shows in a preconceived 16 episode framework.
They might be better off just doing the shows and letting the story and writing take them where it will for their 16 episodes versus knowing what they want to do for the 16th episode and then everything else just being stairsteps to that, even when they creatively can't always make those steps interesting and compelling.

    ...IMO...
Fitting a season in the comics is a good point. I haven't read the comics, but this half of the season has been stretched tooooooooooooo much. I really don't hate Neagan enough to justify the stretching. They did a better job with the Mayor. The episodes are boring dialogue that won't matter when they finally take out Neagan. The only intrigue is who are they gonna kill next. And they undercut that ever being a mystery with the stupid cliffhanger last season.

This season should have been how we love to hate Neagan or hate to love him. Instead they made it about getting all people who hate him in the show together to kill him.

Iron Fist was ok. I liked it better than Luke Cage, but the acting was pretty bad. Danny reminded me of Anakin too much.

The season finale of TWD wasn't bad per se', although like I said above, it's like they knew how they were going to end the season and had little idea how to write in between the beginning of the season and this finale. So it just kind of meandered and stretched it's way until the final episode was on the table.

I think at this point we can quit asking if TWD has jumped the shark and just decide on when it jumped the shark exactly.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

    Spoiler Spoiler:
I can't disagree with you except to say I didn't think it was horrible, but it was far from exceptional. It was in my book, basically "OK", but 'flawed'.
The GPKs and their language is just silly. There's no point in talking like that. It's only been a couple of years since the fall of civilization... not generations.

Speechless on ABC, yes a network, is really good. Of course getting to watch Mimi Rogers is just a bonus.

13 Reasons Why was an eye opener for me. It made me sympathetic to the teenage angst in our communities. With the increased suicide rates in our state I encourage everyone to watch it if you have children. It has language, drugs, alcohol, but noting Game of Thrones fans have not seen. Your teens are already watching it btw.

Fargo. Nothing else needs to be said. Through the first two seasons this series is in the same class as Breaking Bad and Wire

Better Call Saul is paced slow, but the attention to detail with the writing is incredible so far. As is the camera work. And the acting.
I know some people don't like the pacing but I'm fine with it when overall production is this well done.

The symbolism in the show is amazing too.

There are no loose ends. Every minute detail is included for a reason, much like BB itself.

The first two seasons of Fargo are much better than the first two seasons of Breaking Bad.

Can't wait to see how The Leftovers finishes up. The first ep was masterful. Works as a great spirituality-themed 1-2 with Kendrick's DAMN.

Great ending to a 5 year Bates Motel run. Can't wait to watch the whole series again back to back. Also, great to have Fargo back. I still say season one was better than season two, but both are really good.
