Magic City is dead.
Spartacus started out campy as all hell but improved as it went along. It went from nothing more than a guilty pleasure to a decent show by the end.
I'm hopeful that Black Sails does the same but I've been unimpressed so far.
"I had to take her down like Chris Brown."
I enjoyed Spartacus. It wasn't particularly great (Rome on HBO is one of my favorite ever series and is seriously underlooked at) but it was entertaining and some fun action sequences
Sometimes shows need time to get their bearing
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.
Impractical Jokers. Laughed so hard at the end of the new episode tonight.
if you're watching True Detective you should really read this
Yup, the short, non-traditional time commitment is why they could get the best actor on the planet right now along with Woody Harrelson. You could easily see other big name actors and directors coming in to do one-off series. Sci-fi would be tough though since even GoT budget wouldn't be enough to really do show like that right.

Shameless tonight...wow. I don't know if I've ever been more emotionally invested in a TV series. Tonight was an amazing, tough, rewarding, exhausting watch. And I get the sense it's just setting up the stretch run...
Second Game of Thrones trailer:
This is the first season I'll be going into already knowing a lot of what happens (because I've now heard the audio books for the first three books and the first chunk of book 4), but I still can't wait to see it come to life.
Don't watch The Following, just don't. I can't stop and I freaking hate it.
"Just look at the flowers ...."
I just finished Season 3 of The Sopranos. It's pretty messed up how Jackie Jr. exits the show.

I can't wait for The Game Of Throne to start back.
I'm seriously in Love with Daenerys Targaryen, aka Daenerys Stormborn, aka Khaleesi, aka Mother of Dragons.
"Just look at the flowers ...."
Don't forget she's also Breaker of Chains.
Welp, watched both seasons of House of Cards in the last week or so. Quite a good show
I'm still watching True Detective. By episode 5 one major plot point started to make sense (with different pacing and a new scene or two it could've even been the climax of the series), but then they made sure and opened up some more to delve deeper. Great acting and I still don't know where it's all going. Although the info about the ties to the 1895 book and fictional play are very interesting indeed.
O'Brien has been fired! Yay! What took so long?
"A player who makes a team great is more valuable than a great player. Losing yourself in the group, for the good of the group, thatís teamwork."
That said, I really feel it's over-narrated, a bit too self-assured and a bit too propped up by fans. I personally think the "McConalogues" are a bit much, as constant as they are. I get that it's college-level stuff, I get that what he's saying is relevant, and I get that it's "smart writing". But while I enjoyed the hell out of Deadwood's Shakespearian ramblings, I'm just finding myself tuning out of the McConalogues over time. It's not even a call for more action so much as it is a hope this series stops being so masturbatory. That's the vibe I get from it right now.
John From Cincinnati was great and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.
Television in general is just really incredible right now. So many good shows.
