Good night, sometimes I think he has shot it before he catches it. That is reallly uncanny how quick he shoots it.

I don't think there is a comparison. Reggie may have been quick, but Peja is lightning quick. Reggie usually had to have a pretty good pick to create some space. Peja ***** and fires in the blink of an eye.

Michael Redd, in my opinion, has the quickest release in the NBA.

NO Reggie had by far the fastest release ever. He defines a catch and shoot player.

I always thought Dell Curry had the fastest release.

I've submitted as a QOD to Bruno. I've never submitted a QOD, so we'll see if it gets answered.

I did a search on Quick Release and NBA on Google.com and found lots of opinoins. Peja, Reggie, Kyle Korver, Jeff Hornaceck, Michael Redd, Ray Allen... lots of good shooters come up.

I still think Reggie required a little more room than Peja. Clearly Reggie is a much better clutch shooter, but if he is faster it can't be by much. Peja releases it almost instantaneously.

Peja is 3 inches taller and releses the ball a little higher, so I think Peja can shot the ball over defenders better than Reggie

Peja's release is insane. Reggie's was fast, but wow, Peja's is ridiculous. Korver also has a quick release.

Dell Curry and Draazen Petrovic had the two fastest releases I ever saw, from 3-point range.

Bernard King held the title from mid-range.

The thing about Peja is, even with the speed he still has great form (well, except for when he ***** it back and does the little knuckle-ball thing before he readjusts it).
But he gets a really good follow through, it's not a flip, it's just a really quick release.

I can't say one individual, but a group of players with amazingly quick releases would be: Larry Bird, Dell Curry, Reggie Miller, Peja Stojakovic, Drazen Petrovic

The funny thing was that Reggie's release was only quick when he was in motion. It wasn't nearly as fast (although still faster than most) when he was set.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

I saw the highlights on nba.com. They showed 2 of peja's 3s and on both I thought he was gonna get blocked by a defender that came rushing in. He shoots his 3s quick, and he shoots em very high to be shooting em so quick.

Sometimes I wish he'd fake a little more (fools rush in every time he spots up for a three), then drive and see what the options are.

Dell Curry, Chris Jackson (Adbul-Rauf) and Johnny Nuemman certainly had faster releases than Reggie.

Very true. Reggie, in rhythym, could just drill a catch-pivot-and-shoot.

Peja just went up in traffic last night and gave a lightning-quick release over a defender that was in excellent position.

yeah, that's what I'm trying to say.

Peja took and hit some shots last night that Reggie would've had blocked (or, more likely, would've been called for an offensive foul because of that dumb foot kick he always tried to do.)
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you
