Default J.R. Smith & Arvydas Macijauskas

    J.R. is perhaps being shopped.

    http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_ar...h_on_the_move/

He's 20 years old, 6'6'' and growing, immature but talented and freakishly athletic.

NO/OK has the playoff bug and want talent just to get into the playoffs.

I'd like to give him time to mature on the bench.

This is a trade for the future. It frees up money to re-sign Peja and Fred and adds two young shooters.

    New Orleans Trade Breakdown

    Outgoing

    Arvydas Macijauskas
    6-4 PG from Lithuania (Foreign)
    2.1 ppg, 0.6 rpg, 0.1 apg in 6.6 minutes

    J.R. Smith
6-6 SG from St. Benedict's Prep (HS)
    9.3 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 21.2 minutes

    Incoming
    Stephen Jackson
6-8 SG from Oak Hill Academy (HS)
    16.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.2 minutes
Change in team outlook: +4.6 ppg, +1.0 rpg, and +0.7 apg.

    Indiana Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing

    Stephen Jackson
6-8 SG from Oak Hill Academy (HS)
    16.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 2.2 apg in 36.2 minutes

    Incoming

    Arvydas Macijauskas
    6-4 PG from Lithuania (Foreign)
    2.1 ppg, 0.6 rpg, 0.1 apg in 6.6 minutes

    J.R. Smith
6-6 SG from St. Benedict's Prep (HS)
    9.3 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.4 apg in 21.2 minutes
Change in team outlook: -4.6 ppg, -1.0 rpg, and -0.7 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Indiana being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Any player who said they'd rather make Sportscenter Top 10 than win a game shouldn't get anywhere near this Pacer team.

He doesn't appear to fit in NO/OKC's system either.........

Most 20 year olds don't fit into anybody's NBA system. You have to close your eyes and imagine what they can be at age 25. Provided that they like to work on their weaknessess more than they like to play video games.

I wouldn't count on anything at all from him this year or next.

In my own mind I have a 3 year plan. I wish I knew that Donnie Birdlisle did.

Hey, I like the idea of JR Smith too. I just don't care much for the player.

Bringing Macijauskas would make Pacers one of the most popular NBA teams in Europe

Frontcourt of Saras, Macas and Peja would frighten everyone to death in international basketball, though in NBA i don't know

Macijauskas is very underrated, though not so cheap (2 mln/season as I remember). He's a quicker and more accurate!!! shooter than Saras, but not as good in passing. At 6'4'' as SG he's not a very reliable defender, but I would pick him favorite in 3pt shootout (if he ever participates in one ). Plays with a lot of intensity and is relentless offensively, also can pull a team on his shoulders if needed. Many similarities with Ben Gordon, just not as athletic (but I guess an even better shooter)

I love the idea of getting Arvydas here, he'll i'd trade Jack straight up for him. Jack is just a loose cannon and more times than not he is not a team player. I think Jermaines lack of team play is enough for this squad.

Lets trade everyone for Euros while we are at it.
