I dont know that he got her seat, but if it was it was probably because Jerry offered him a seat at the game as a way of being hospitable in hopes that Ron goes to his team. You dont think Ron jumped Jeannie outside the arena and said "Gimme your ticket or I'll beat you up!", do you?

That's the point. That would be tampering. You can't go out and try to recruit another team's player. Did the fact that he thought he was going to LA lead to today's debacle? No way to know for sure, but it's definitely on the verge of being tampering.

These things go on all the time.....what if I told you (this has no basis in truth but its just a possible example) that Jerry Buss may have even bought Ron lunch? I'm sure the Clippers gave him perks too while he was out there. Its not like they gave his agent a Rolls Royce and said come on out to LA where the sun always shines....its just one ticket to a basketball game.

Just a month ago Phil Jackson was fined for tampering for absolutely nothing except saying that he hopes the Lakers will be able to sign Chris Bosh when he is a fee agent in 2007.

I'd say that the "meeting" is just a big ruse to get him to the mental hospital, but maybe Ron or "sources close to Ron" lurk on here so I won't say anything.
I can see it now.......Artest shows up in the meeting room and there's a straight jacket waiting for him there.

And he's exercising it right now.

But I think it's about to blow up in his face.
    How so beast23?

Personally, I don't think Ron is dumb, but he lacks an internal censor. My real belief is that his agent is trying to screw the Pacers to get even for making Ron inactive. It's hard for me to understand how the Players association allows this to happen. Eventually, I think agents and the PA will be the downfall of the league... Sprewell, Artest....

Oh no, RON IS DUMB. Probably one of the dumbest people alive. Don't give him credit for something he isn't trying to do.

There is a difference between dumb and selfish. Like your moniker, I would also like to see Ron rot. However, this does not make him dumb. He's enacting the only revenge he has. He's taking his only advantage and playing it to the best of his ability.
    Immoral? Yes.
    Twisted? Definitely.
Worthy of eternal damnation in the flames of hell? I certainly hope so.
    But, Dumb. Nope.

... that Ron will even show up for his scheduled meeting tomorrow.

I think he's begging the Pacers to suspend him now so he can get this into some type of arbitration so that he can try to paint himself as the victim.

The big, bad, mean Pacers tried to trade me to a team that I didn't like.

Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

The only thing left for Ron to do to pain me personally is to kill my cat.

No word from Pacers after Artest meeting

Ron Artest met with Indiana Pacers CEO Donnie Walsh and president Larry Bird in Conseco Fieldhouse today about the stalled trade talks with the Sacramento Kings.

Artest drove out of the players’ parking area at Conseco about 1:30 p.m. He had no comment for reporters waiting on the sidewalk.
There was no immediate announcement from the team.

The Pacers and Kings were working to execute a trade that would exchange Artest for Peja Stojakovic on Tuesday.

Some media outlets reported Artest had rejected the trade, although Artest told The Indianapolis Star on Tuesday evening that he would “do whatever my agent tells me to do.”

Artest’s agent, Mark Stevens, told ESPN that Artest has never wanted to play for the Kings. Stevens said Artest made his trade request public on Dec. 10 only after he thought he was about to be sent to Sacramento.

“Ron Artest did not want to be traded to Sacramento weeks ago, and he does not want to be traded to Sacramento now,” Stevens said.

“Basketball is Ron Artest’s passion. In order for Ron to fully demonstrate his natural skills and abilities, to the best of his abilities, he not only must be in an environment that is conducive to his growth an development as a player, he must also ensure that his family is happy and content as well. Ron does not believe that will be the case if he were in Sacramento. Period.”

Stevens did say, however, that “if the trade is made he will play for his new team, regardless of how he may feel about it.”

    This story will be updated.

The man said, "I'm sorry miss but I've just run over your cat."
The man apologized again and said that he would like to replace the cat.
The woman said, "Well that's alright with me but how are you at catching mice."
