    Default Lottery

Well this is much earlier than I thought I would start thinking about this
but I guess we need to start looking at who is available in this years
lottery because that is definitely where this team is headed.

Well, depending on what we get back in a trade, or hell, if a trade even goes down, this is looking more and more like where we're headed.

I'd kill for Daniel Gibson to be the future PG of this team.

That's what Stern needs to do. Ban Ron from the league, take him off our cap, and freeze an envelope for us for '07.

Of course, I don't know how that'd help now that it's ping pong balls, but it's something.

This upcoming draft leaps out at me as possibly the least exciting in recent memory. If we're going full on Euroball, go ahead and grab a Kevin Pittsnoggle out of WVU.

rajon rondo would be the best player for the pacers to take imo...including top5 projected players. then i'd have to say gibson, foye, roy, and carney, in that order. and indy0731 i hope your joking about killingsworth b/c marco would be the last player this team needs. not only b/c of his thug-like game/personality/mentality, but b/c he's just not very good. not very good at all.

Our position in the lottery if we miss the playoffs and our position if we get beat in the first round will be one apart.

We couldn't tank enough games on purpose to end up with a top-three pick, and anything else buys us only the last lottery pick. Mark my words.

No centers in this draft? WTH? I don't watch any college ball at all, but I just looked at the link and there was only one center. Some foreign scrub who we'll end up drafting.

    Duely noted.
The way the team is playing and with JO out for awhile I have a hard time
envisioning the next win. If you cannot beat the worst team in the league
    who can you beat????

Who said anything about keeping JO? I would trade JO for whatever, that
included a 2007 first rounder that had lottery potential.
Plus if JO is traded the Pacers will have their own lottery
pick in 2007. Thus 2 shots at number 1. That is assuming
Oden declares for the 2007 draft.

i honestly feel the pacers need to get rid of jo inorder to become a contender again b/c imo, he's the only one that can bring back that type of young talent. if it came down to it, i'd trade jo for oden straight up. don't know how many teams would bite though. oden will be the centerpiece for many championship/championship contending teams.

JJ Redick. I'm not in the he's-too-slow-for-the-nba crowd. I think you stick him out there and play good team defense and he's a solid 18 ppg scorer in the nba. Needs to get stronger, but I can definitely see him as a smaller version of Dale Ellis.

Chauncey, I agree with you about Redick. Anybody who can score 30-40
points a game against the best college competition will make a good pro.
If he is there when and wherever the Pacers pick he will be snatched up.
Other than Morrison he is the most skilled scorer in the draft. The only other
player I see as being useful to the Pacers is Shelden Williams. Plus all three
of these players are durable, mentally stable and 3-4 year college players.
I am ready to start over. Picking up Peja I believe is a low risk for the Pacers
as he can be re-signed, cut loose or traded for expiring players and picks.
If the team miraculously turns around the rest of this year then they try harder to re-sign him.
Redick is not slow and he takes people to the hoop now which makes him deadly.

Would you rather the Pacers make the playoffs, or miss the playoffs and luck into a top 3 pick?
