Guard Fred Jones has emerged as a leading candidate of the NBA's sixth man of the year award.

    <...>

Head Coach Rick Carlisle on Fred Jones: "I view him as a de facto starter. And really it's not whether you start, it's whether you finish, in a lot of cases. He's just been a very important player for us this year. We could easily start him but we wouldn't have the dimension that he gives us off the bench. It's not just his ability to score, it's his ability to get the ball moved around the court, to get other guys shots and to do good things in transition. And you're a little bit limited when he starts games with some of the other main guys because it takes the ball out of his hands."

Too bad Fred Jones work ethic doesnt translate to great fantasy stats. Oh well, hopefully he will be resigned and kept unlike the Al harrington Sign and trade.

Now, this could make the task of re-signing him a lot harder.
