AJ is having a once in a lifetime game right now.
You, Never? Did the Kenosha Kid?
He cant play defense
sure... you are looking for the defence when a player is doing 6/7 14 points in 12 min
you are all right
It's not like he couldn't come off the bench and score some more. He was having a good game, but AJ was having a better one. Nuff said.
Yep if you score 14 points and give up 14 thats not helping. And the guy he would have replaced in the lineup in the second half happend to have the best game of his career tonight scoring wise.
Its really nothing to be mad about because this more than
likely won't happen agian, udi. You have to go with the hot
hand and AJ's isn't this hot ever.
it's about the team, not the individual player.
Come to the Dark Side -- There's cookies!
when the 2nd period was ended no 1 knew what will come in the scnd half
and when you have a player that scores 6/7 14 points in the 2nd period you cant sit him
AJ was fantastic but this has no relation to my point - its all about management
What you seemed to have missed in this "scoring spree" is that at the 5.33 mark in the 2nd Q AJ came back in, Saras played the eniter 2nd Q btw, when the 2nd Q started we were down 9, at the 5.33 mark we were down 8 andSaras had already scored half of his points in that quarter.
It is as some say, you can score a bunch, but if you give it away on defense, it's not going to get you anywhere.
It was clear that the TEAM was better with AJ last night, so Rick did what every good coach does, he went with the best option: "offense and defense in the same player".
Saras still played 28 minutes in the game, so playing time was not a problem.
And to sugest that they made it a point not to get him the ball is ridiculous.
So Long And Thanks For All The Fish.
If you've done 6 impossible things today?
Then why not have Breakfast at Milliways!
He can't play defense at the NBA level.
He doesn't have the footspeed.
Additionally, the Bobcats lead the league in forcing turnovers and Saras has had trouble bringing the ball up the court against almost every other team.
Putting in AJ for him when he's having a career night was the smart thing to do.
I know many of yall love Saras, but I just don't see it.
He can score, great... but if his man is harrassing him while he's bringing the ball up and on the other end Saras can't guard his man, he can be a liablility. Love is blind though.
Saras is one of only 3 Pacers with a positive +/- (second highest on the team with +7.1)
+/- is not the same thing as "getting more than you're giving up"
This is probably the worst case of overrating a player I've ever seen....Sarass is a backup.
Indeed, but you could also contrast the average +/- for the most used 5-man units that include Saras against the most used 5-man units that don't include him and get a pretty good indicator.
But I'm definately not doing all that work for a team I don't root for and a player I don't really care about.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you
I thought "Euro ball" didn't care about stats? I'm so confused. I had to double check that the Pacers won.
"They could turn out to be only innocent mathematicians, I suppose," muttered Woevre's section officer, de Decker.
"'Only.'" Woevre was amused. "Someday you'll explain to me how that's possible. Seeing that, on the face of it, all mathematics leads, doesn't it, sooner or later, to some kind of human suffering."
