I'll always wonder what might have been... Granger at the 3, JJ at the 2.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

47 pts in the first quarter - and we are scared of the Heat why?

    The Suns look great!

What might have been? JJ would be sitting on the bench. He is playing this good because he is playing with Nash and is allowed to launch all those shots, you think Ricky would let JJ shoot that much. Get out of here.

What a great line... "The Miami Heat are on pace to score 100 points... and lose by 88."

    That's awesome.

Thats gotta be some type of record. I don't think I've ever heard of more points being scored in a single quarter.

He wouldn't have scored like Jax last night, no doubt. Without Jermaine and Ron, we'd probably have lost that one.

But he'd be a great third option.

With Eddie Gill passing them the ball because we have no PG besides AJ when Tinsley misses his required 40 games of the season? Fred would still be ahead of him any way since all JJ can do is shoot jumpers.

Arrrgh, Anthem, I don't get why you overrate James. He is not a third option. He's not even a SG. He would be sitting the bench behind Danny.

So when the Suns win a championship someday, we'll be going, "Yeah, but JJ would have never started here behind Granger." Talk about Arrrgh! Jermaniac speaks truth.

    I agree.

If the Suns ever win the championship, it won't be because of JJ

I liked having JJ on our team. JJ is in the perfect system for him right now in Phoenix. He is not a very talented player, but he does the best he can with what he has, and in a system like Phoenix's his offense will look as good as humanly possible. Granger is far more talented, and in two years no one will say a word about missing JJ unless they see him as our "missing link" at 2-guard. I think JJ's too big/slow for a starting 2, but stranger things have happened.

I liked JJ too, I just like Danny a lot more.

What did Steve Kerr do as a 2 guard that JJ couldn't?

And that's better than JO and Sjax?

    ...

    Oh.... I guess it is....

But on a serious note.... IF the Pacers are going to go to JO inside, and he's our franchise player, and he's going to get double teams, what's wrong with a JJ playing the Steve Kerr role? The only problem I see is JO's willingness to pass and ability to make quick decisions with the ball.

And better yet.... JJ looked pretty good when we played with motion so I still don't see why we couldn't have continued to play that way. But alas, this discussion is moot since JJ is no longer a Pacer.
