It gets to the root of those nasty "which one do we trade for" problems by getting both.
Pacers trade Ron, Tinsley, Pollard, Austin, and AJ
Lakers trade Odom, Kwame, Devean George, Sasha Vujacic, and Von Wafer.
Lakers get three probable starters out of the deal: Austin, Ron, and either Tinsley or AJ (AJ might actually be a great PG in Jackson's triangle).
We get a starting lineup of JO/Odom/George (I know, I know)/Jackson, and Saras, with Foster/Kwame/Granger/Jones/Sasha off the bench. That's a solid 10-man rotation, if a little weak in the backcourt.
No chance, I know. Like I said, just for fun.
EDIT: Mods, please move this to the correct forum. Sorry about that.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.
Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.
After the Pacers trade Artest to GS I'd love it if they would make a trade for Kwame.
Pollard and a 2nd rounder for Kwame might work. The Lakers are getting a big center for the rest of the year and $6 million in cap space this summer. The 2nd round pick is just a little sweetener but maybe they'd rather have Eddie Gill instead.
Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.
