Default What are the chances Bird pulls a "Riley"?

The team is underachieving, not only record-wise, but also in how they play the game, team chemistry, effort, and all that.

What are the chances that Bird waits for a deal to get done, and Carlisle suddenly sees a need to be with his family?

Maybe he does it without a trade and actually brings Ron back somehow (remember - Ron's comments were targetted at Carlisle)?

And here's the grassy knoll part:
What if that was the plan all along? What if Ron was voicing Larry? Could it have been planned that Larry would be on a mysterious "scouting-trip" EXACTLY when this ordeal began? Could this have been the reason that we never heard a peep from LB - the team's GM for crying out loud - all this time. Could his timing be more suspicious, speaking after 2 losses, with the third probably coming in tonight?

Larry backed Ron. Carlisle pushed him away.
Larry brought Saras. Carlisle is playing him at SG.
There are probably more professional differences that we dont know (Harrison, Croshere, Granger, AJ, Tinsley, even JO).
Larry is a Legend. Carlisle is the guy who cant make it over the hill.

Could Larry Bird be pulling a "Riley" here?

Wow NPFII, what a jewish head you have. Sahten.
May be you are unaware of what Bird said lately about Artest: http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl...512260410/1088
    That kinda weakens your theory.
You are probably still impressed by Birds intelligence in interview for Dani Enbar showed yesterday on 5+. But you are overating Ron Ron.

Maybe it's all in order to boost Artest's trade value.

Something on the lines of: "hey, if we lost a few games, maybe teams will see that Artest was really valuable to us, and maybe they'll offer something better".
    I choose this one.

Even if DW/LB can Rick, Ron Artest will not be back. That would be rewarding his non-allegience to TPTB. DW is not about to reward any player who has stabbed him in the back.

And as for conspiracy theories...that one is about as cockamamie as any I have ever heard.

    Now this is more plausable:

I choose this one. (HOWEVER, I cannot imagine LB/DW intentionally tanking a few games)
If you get to thinkin’ you’re a person of some influence, try orderin’ somebody else’s dog around..

Judaism has nothing to do with anything here, and yes, I did see what Bird said about Artest. It doesn't change the conspiracy theory, which is a valid theory until proven otherwise by action, not words.

Haven't seen the Bird interview yet, but I am looking forward to it.

What kind of a Lithfan are you that you watch Israeli TV? Can I conspirate on THAT?

Wasn't it Carlisle doing most of the work when Larry was coaching?

Israeli-Lithuanian-Fan would be more appropriate, but Israel doesn't offer much in basketball so I stick to Lith.
I've drank a beer with Saras in Vilnius. He is weird... and constantly looking for pus*y. I've bet this is his biggest problem in Indiana.
Or may be he found some and that explains his shooting lately.

Bird pulling a Riley just won't happen, not even temporary. He doesn't like coaching and as has been pointed out, Rick did most of the coaching when he was coach.

There is no chance, none. We would have a better chance of pulling Rik Smits out of retirement.

I was sitting on the bar and there were couple of my friends. He came with another player - PG from Lithuanian NT - Maskoliunas. It was 2 years ago and he was playing "maco". From the way he talked it appeared to me that he is very old fashioned type of guy, like shovinist and not really comfortable with himself. That appeared weired to me... But you know thats like 10 min impression when he probably had few beers before...
