    Default Hicks, question?

Are you going to shut down the forum, on the day when the Ron gets traded?. .

I am just asking cus it seem to happen in almost all forums when a major trade happens, too many people logging in. .

Frankly it sucks. Not saying it will happen for sure.

It won't happen here like that... Most forum members will be too busy trying to talk Uncle Buck back in from the ledge.

I think Donnie will hold off until the snow is deep enough again.

A snowbank saved him. He might not be so lucky next time.

I doubt this place shuts down.

The night off 11/19, it was near impossible for me to get onto the site. It was just so busy.

And when I did get on, boy was it slow.

But for the most part, the site is still up and running.

I generally find other things to do and just come back when the forum isnt so "hot", but if you dont mind it taking a while, you will still be able to access the site (Unless Hicks or Able change there policy)
That was on the older software (not vBulletin). vB can take a LOT more people than bbBoard2 can/did.

Nothing getsw shut down baring disasters, there are so many ways to "filter" what happens and limit BW usage if I wanted that there is no need whatsoever to do that.

Seeing the average use and the impact on the server, (on avg there are 250 on the forum every second of the day) as well as the bandwidth, I would say that we can expect some problems if we get more then 10 thousand users in one go all refreshing constantly, that is when might see some degredation in servicesses, but I would in that case take some precautions to prevent the dergedation (like slow down the connection refresh rate)

anyway; nay worry, it is in hand and under control

    or so they say.

So, with the trade, untrade, and game, did we see a crazy amount of posters on here? I noticed it stalled a bit, did we actually hit that 10000 number?
