    Successful Scenario
Due to Indiana being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Indiana had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

I would go nuttier than a squirl turd if we could actually pull that one off. Just imagine Josh Smith and Fred Jones playing together at the same time.

Sorry for posting another Artest trade thread but I couldn't help myself.

How come you didn't take a couple of the Hawks 1st round picks while you're at it?
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

I know that we would have to give up some of our picks.

Atlanta would have to be as stupid as Ron Artest to pull that one off. But as a Pacers fan I would welcome it with open arms.

Damn. Thats wishful thinking. Atlanta would possibly deal either J-Smoov or Big Al, but probably not both and certainly no Williams. But then again, I don't want Marvin. He's a huge bust. A poor mans Tim Thomas.

As bad as Atlanta is now the one thing they have are several players that provide the best of everything.
    • Athletic
    • Very Young
    • Still in thier Cheap Rookie Contract.
    • Vast Potential for improvement.

    Other than AL...
ATL does not trade any of those, if they are just getting Artest
You would need to provide a semi young veteran of close or equal caliber at a relative reasonable contract.

Otherwise Atlanta would prefer to continue to suck wind for a few more years, rack up even more top draft picks.
Then eventually trade some of them off once they have grown into thier potential.

    Why Not Us ?
