Default Open letter to Jermaine O'Neal

    Keep it up!

It's time to formally give credit where credit is deserved. Jermaine O'Neal is evolving in front of our eyes.

Ever since Cro said what he did (and JO agreed with him), JO has been a warrior on the court, and a true leader.

He has battled for rebounds, blocked an insane amount of shots, and taken the ball hard to the basket much more. He has also dived for loose balls day in and day out, and has cut out whining to the refs (he talks with them, but it's calm, not emotional). This my friends is a leader stepping up to the plate and knocking one out of the park, and I wanted to start a thread to give him full credit for this.

Jermaine O'Neal could not possibly be doing more to satisfy me as a fan right now, and he deserves praise for it. He's gone from a leader who talked the talk, to one that also now walks the walk, and that is special. So let's hear from the Pacers-faithful, give a shoutout to Jermaine and his outstanding play! May he keep it up for years to come!

Some have speculated he or someone who would tell him about it reads this place, and I want to make the message loud and clear: KEEP IT UP!

    Hicks,

I was thinking the same thing last night watching the game. Several times I saw him walk up to the official and speak respectfully to him about a call. I agree with your post 100%. It is nice to see someone step up right now when some others are ......well.....you know.

I agree as well, and it's something that I hope doesn't get lost in all of this.

Thanks JO for returning to your MVP caliber play. It has been missed.
Your hustle, physical play and team play has not gone unnoticed.
Thank you for not forcing shots, taking it to the hole and dishing off to the open guy,

What a huge difference that makes

I totally agree. I have been one of the biggest Jermaine "haters" in the past. But what Croshere said has totally turned him around.

Thank you Jermaine and especially thank you cro!

"Evolving in front of our eyes" is perfect. JO is becoming the type of player who will someday have his jersey hanging from our rafters.

Is there room for one more on this wagon? Save me a seat, because I'm 100% with you.

If JO keeps this up much longer I'm gonna have to drop Brad like a bad habit and request a new Titanic photo from MagicRat.

I was advocating a JO for Chirs Bosh trade before the season began. CB4 is having one helluva season, but JO has impressed me beyond belief.

If he keeps playing this way, there's essentially no one within reach I'd trade him for. He's been playing just the way I wanted him to - aggressive.

Oh my God, wonders never cease!!!

J.O. has indeed been playing like he is the face of the franchise eversince that second game with the Bobcats. You know the play where he blocked Okafor then dove and knocked the ball from in front of him when he tried to re-post for the ball.

J.O. does get an "atta boy" for being a leader.

I agree that JO has stepped it up and started being the leader he touted himself to be. I always felt he was capable, and he is proving me (and many others) right.

Given the sterling example he has started to set, it seems obvious that he is VERY capable of being an effective leader for this team. Keep it up JO, and we will follow you into the jaws of hell!!

One thing I REALLY like is that JO and Cro handled their situation like GROWN MEN. In this day and age of grown men getting away with acting like preschoolers, it is refreshing to see a situation pan out like it was supposed to. What Croshere did was the definition of constructive criticism, and JO handled it like a professional. Kudos to both.

This thread is about JO, though.

    Thanks JO!!

btw, is there any way you could talk Bird into getting you a new coach? I'd sure like to see what you guys could do with someone who lets you play this game, it's called BASKETBALL. What you are playing now is a over-analyzed, over-calculated, and over-controlled version.

J.O was outstanding last night, one of his better games I've ever seen him play, the 55 point game included. He was so efficient. I give the coaching staff a lot of credit for the great defensive game plan last night. Cro, Jeff, or DG guarded Gasol but J.O would shade towards Pau, with a lot of help.

I see it much differently. JO is stepping up because his leadership and value has been challenged by Ron Artest. Ron's tandrum is mostly about Jermaine's money and contract and role on the team. JO knows it. What you have seen is a response from JO to Ron's challenge. Cro has very little to do with this, me thinks.

Huh? Did I miss when Artest spoke out about the same time as Cro did? JO's step up happened then, not yesterday...
