UB, don't be cursing us. I still don't believe.

I mean I WANT to - but there's the little matter of the big win streak we had right after we got Marbury before Isiah traded KVH for TT, or last year's 16-13 start before everything went to crap.

For now I'll bathe in the heady knowledge that we have now won more than half as many games as we've lost.

Your faith should be in Larry Brown and his history of turning teams around in his first season., at least in the second half of his first season. They've shown some signs all season long, of being a pretty good team, they would play a good game here or there, but then follow it up with a horrible game

    Luther Head = Clutch.
The Rockets will probably trade him for Jason Hart or Darrell Armstrong, because they're always looking to upgrade thier roster. Pacers should offer Eddie Gill for him.

    And NOW I believe.

Which is generally the kiss of death but the 2nd night of a back-to-back and winning in OT after giving up a big lead in the 4th?

Exactly the kind of game we lost 20-30 times last season.

Of course we're still only 12-21 which is what - the 5th worst record in the league?

Another good performance by the Knicks tonight.

I don't think it will last, but I'm happy they knocked Dallas and Cleveland another game behind us.

Just be patient, Rim. You'll have another big losing streak in about a month. Larry's teams have a lot of trouble sustaining his style initially.

However, it looks like Channing Frye is falling out of Larry Brown's favor.

Who wants to be Larry tries to have him traded next month?

We already went through that once. Came out of that early WC trip (2-4 I think). We were losing but we were losing close games where our D was very tough and our offense sucked. We were way ahead of where I thought we'd be. I think after about 12 games we were something like the 5th best defensive team in FG% against (TO's were destroying us).

    Then came December.

It could happen again but I don't see it being as bad - I'm sure we'll lose 3-4 in a row at some point though and the NY press will be crying doom.

I doubt it. He got 23 minutes and pulled down 8 boards. But AD & Curry were playing too well tonight.

One other thing too - it isn't a coincidence that this is happening now that Eddy Curry is finally healthy even if he still isn't in game shape. I'll be glad when he gets to where he can give more than 25-30 minutes.

And tonight we played like complete and total crap for about 38 minutes.

The first and last 5 weren't bad. I don't see us beating the Raptors though - I think we could but we just coasted through a game and won - I see Toronto taking advantage of that just a little better than the Hawks.

Yeah - and the last couple of years we'd have lost. Still don't like seeing us have helter-skelter streaks and give up that many offensive boards.

I think I must have raised my standards over the last couple of weeks.

Helter-skelter streaks are Larry Brown's offense. If you're not forcing turnovers, you're going to have a streaky offense. Larry loves to keep his offense simple, which cuts down on mistakes but also big plays.

Point is, you grin, bear it, and thank god for having a brilliant defensive strategist as coach.

Wasn't exactly the kind of helter-skelter I meant. We were up about 10 halfway through the 2nd and the Hawks were ready to topple over. I think the team sensed it and lost their patience - rushed passes, early shots, lots of long passes that weren't really there.

They tried to go for the quick kill when if we'd just ground it out we'd have been up 20 by halftime. And we completely forgot about our post game (through most of the 3rd too) which the Hawks had absolutely no answer for.

I'll take LB's word for it that we were tired but I still didn't like that stretch.

Well, you sorta expected the Knicks to lose in Toronto, but they just got POUNDED, 120-98. It was actually a little worse than the final score.

No Mike James for the Raps, either. NY just couldnt sustain it.

I was watching the Colts lose so I didn't catch it except checking in at halftime and seeing they'd given up 66.

Hopefully they aren't wearing down - it's a long season. I'll have a much better sense of this team tomorrow when we play Minny. They've been struggling and it's home. If we're a good team we'll win. If we're just a pretender that had a lucky stretch, we won't.

Was worried about this one - the Raptors hadn't played since Wednesday and everyone said we were tired Fri. night.

For those of you with NBATV, turn on the Cavs-BLazers game. Looks like it's going to be a good one.

24-20 Cavs, Lebron already has 14.

The Blazers can be a fun team to watch sometimes.

Yeah, they're flawed in almost every facet of the game, but they run all game, and they hustle on both ends. McMillan really has this team playing hard. As a fan, nothing makes you happier than watching effort.

The BLazers making some EXCELLENT hustle plays out there.

Seems that the Blazers are offering dinner and a movie with any purchase of two tickets in the "red" section.

What's the dinner for? To wash the bad taste out of your mouth. And the movie? To help you forget you're a Blazers fan for 2 hours.

Anderson Varejo looks a lot like Sideshow Bob, but I can tell he isn't. Why? Because if he was really Sideshow Bob, he'd have tried to assasinate Lebron for taking so many shots over double-teams....

And wouldn't it be priceless to hear Vaerjo say to James after another turnover:

"You want the ball? You can't handle the ball! No ballhandler you! Bah! I deride your ballhandling abilities!"

Not to mention, Lebron looks nothing like Krusty the clown. Although, I could definately see James going on a Krusty-like drinking binge if he's forced to continue to play with the Cavs much longer...

I scored 59 points tonight and we lost by 20....to the Hawks. Uuuuuuuugh.
