Bo Hill made the dumbest play ever by a coach tonight.

Seattle was within 7 with 5 minutes to go, Rip Hamilton was wide open for a three in the corner, and He actually STEPPED ON TO THE FLOOR to yell in Rip's ear on the shot. Rip missed.

The penalty? Essentially a goaltending call. By rule coach interference causes the shot to count no matter what, PLUS a technical foul is assessed.

Essentially, Bob Hill received a 4-point penalty, and that was pretty much the game

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

And some people down here have wondered why he couldn't get an NBA job. Oh yea, it was all Popovich's fault.

How about Howard planting the basketball in Mike James's face tonight?

Odom has 10 assists in 3 quarters against the Sixers tonight. If the Tin man is going to keep rusting up, we may need someone that can actually run an offense on this team.

7 of 8 Suns have scored in double figures and Nash has 3 more assists than the Heat have.

Well, depends on how you spin that play.

What happened was Prince was driving towards the middle and passed it to Hamilton in the corner near the Sonics bench. Hill, as many coaches (at any level) do, was standing while coaching. However, he didn't know where he was, and Hamilton ran into his foot while spotting up to shoot the 3, which he missed. The official called the coaches interference (the correct call) immediately thereafter.

It's not as if Hamilton had the ball in the corner and Hill jumped at him to try and distract him. It was wrong place, wrong time. But it probably was the play in the game which secured the Pistons win.

Funny how we always seem to play the "bad" teams as they go on a winning streak, isn't it?

Sometimes, I wonder if it's beating us that hypes them up enough to set them off on the streak, or if we just happen to be a link in the chain at the wrong time.

I should have seen it before commenting, but I was lazy. But still, you've got to know where you are on the court.

Didn't James go off to 30 or so in that game? Mental note: Don't disrespect Mike James in the middle of a game.

Nash with 12 assists in the first quarter.

    That was inevitable.

I don't understand why teams keep getting rid of him. Heat, Celtics, Pistons, Bucks, Rockets, probably the Raptors eventually. He can be at the very least a solid backup pg for just about any team. I don't get it.

It was Mike James or Antonio McDyess. Dumars made the right choice on that one.

I'll be STUNNED if James doesn't opt out of his contract after this season. He ought to be able to get a 4 to 5 year deal with the way he's been playing.

The Pistons had no choice, as they didn't have his Bird or Early Bird rights. What really made no sense was Houston dealing him for Rafer Alston. I wonder if a contender will try to deal for him at the deadline this season - he would be a great fit in Miami with his defense and three-point shooting.

What's depressing for me is we could have had him for Kenny Anderson in 2004, but Kenny decided he wanted to stay here.

Utah's just a better team than we are.

They aren't better than the Knicks, but they're better than us.

Nothing else to say about it, really. They always shuw up to play us, and we just don't really care. Utah would beat us 80 times out of 80 because they play like its the NBA finals aganst us and we sleepwalk.
