Ron's getting triple-teamed in the post now. Bibby is going to have to take the shot.

Artest misses, MoPete with a rebound and he's fouled.

That was an awesome rebound by MoPete ripping it away from Brad Miller.

Mo Pete hits both and are up 122-121 with 31.4 seconds left.

Adelman already has a tech, and has been really giving it to the refs but no 2nd tech.

Mike James has to play some of that smuggling defense we're used to on Bibby here.

Nope, Raptors win, 124-123. What a game.

Aside from that, the Kings will be OK once they geta few practices under them. They've got a lot of talent.

Funny sign in the crowd tonight, by the way.

Little kid was holding up a sign that read: "Artest - please don't punch me. I have school tomorrow".

I still don't believe it's possible to catch, turn and shoot in .4 though, no matter what the refs and league say.

I agree with that. Even watching tonight, Bibby let go of that ball as soon as it hit his hands and it still wouldn't have counted. I think it all depends on how "quick" that person is to start the time...

The Pacers were still always a playoff team.

I never said the Kings would be contenders, but they'll be good enough to make the playoffs.

Shawn Kemp intends to sign with an NBA team before the All-Star break, according to www.fox28.com ...

    KEMP COMES HOME

Shawn Kemp got back in the area this week.

He's visiting family, working out and getting excited about basketball again.

It's been a couple of years since he played in the NBA.

Now he's 36, but he's a changed man... at least physically.

6 months ago we told you about an article in the Seattle Times.

Kemp was working out in Houston with a dream of coming back.

Now he's lost 70 pounds and says you'll be shocked at what he can still do on the basketball floor.

He also says he has no regrets.

Shawn Kemp was at the Elkhart Memorial game watching his nephew Chris play for the Chargers. He has slimmed down considerably. He had become the joke of the league carrying over 300 pounds. It was a long way from his days as the "Reign Man" when he was in Seattle. After floundering through NBA days with Portland, Cleveland and Orlando, Kemp finally had to leave the game. His weight had taken a toll. He was no longer effective at the elite level. He had some run ins with the law. People questioned his personal life. It looked like a hero gone bad. Now he says he wants to gain the respect of all those who thought he was done. He told me he has been offered contracts by teams, but an ankle injury during his workouts has set him back. He said his ankle is now fine and he expects to be back around the NBA All-Star Break. He told me people will be shocked by what he can do on the basketball floor. Shawn is living in Seattle and working out at the University of Houston. He seems very at peace with what has happened in his life. He says he has no regrets, but he has learned from things that have happened in his life. He says he will be back. And this time he wants to go out on top. Losing 70 pounds in 6 months is not easy for anyone. But for a 36 year old man, it shows his determination and it shows what drove him to be an NBA All Star early in his career. FOX 28 will air more of this exclusive interview Monday January 30th on FOX 28 News at 10.

    Ronnie guarentees the playoffs....

    http://www.sacbee.com/content/sports...14961606c.html

"I just feel bad for the guys," Adelman said. "They played hard, came back and made some mistakes that cost us."

But Artest was the one with the fresh perspective, having endured only two of the five losses on the season-long six-game road trip and having had no part in the 21 defeats before that. Loss be darned, he said, there is major potential here.

"We're going to be fine," Artest said. "We'll be in the playoffs this year."

    Is that a guarantee?

"We'll be in the playoffs," he repeated. "Definitely. Definitely. You can guarantee that."

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.
