Default A good sign. JO Gives Props to Ron

During the halftime interviews, they asked Jermaine a question, and he immediately said, "It's all about Ron Artest right now--about him coming back," or something like that.

I was very encouraged. Obviously, Ron is getting all the media attention right now. JO is acting like a mature leader, enjoying the moment for Ron, giving him his props, and patiently waiting for similar attention to come back his way in due time.

If he and Ron can do that on the floor all year--and if JO can provide that same kind of maturity all year--we're lookin good.

I like hearing those two are getting along. It will definitely help the chemistry.

I loved when I saw that,
Jermaine what did you think about that long range shot
"Nothing, its about Ron Artest right now, Ron Artest is back, all star baby."

Patiently waiting? I've recently seen at least two national commercials with Jermaine in them, one where he's featured. Seems he's getting his due.

    Yep, Ron's a martyr.

I'm glad they're acting all chummy in public.

But its too bad that the focus is still on individual players, and whether they are all-stars or not.

Why not, "Nothing, its all about the Indiana Pacers right now, our entire team is together again, and will be a force to be reckoned with."

Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

it was good to see jack, JO, and ron together like that. this team seems to be on the same page right now, let's hope it continues.

It would have been better if JO or Stephen had said, "I'd like to point out that Ron was not the first person in the league to get into a fight this year."

Jermaine among several others. However, this week Artest has been perhaps the main feature in all the hype about the NBA starting up. And whenever the Pacers are mentioned, its all about Artest.

Well, the point is that the media is making it all about individuals and all-stars, which is their tendency. JO was simply laughing along with the attention du jour right now on Ron and riding it a little, and demonstrating that he was comfortable with letting his teammate get some attention.

    It's a good sign, I say.

If Ron is getting all the attention now why was JO and Stephen in on the interview? Oh, I forgot the "We Ride Together" stuff. Never mind.

I like seeing our BIG 3 together. JO kept repeating "All-Star" when talking about Ron.

According to Reggie, and I see his point, Tinsley is the most important Pacer.

So actually the big three is more like the big four.

Really, IMO, the Pacers big 3 is JO, Artest, & Tinsley in that order.

I'm not even a Tinsley fan but it seems that the Pacers never lose when Jamaal has a good game.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

Agree that the "Big Three" is Jermaine, Ron, and Tinsley.

The thing is, though, Jax acts as a bridge between Jermaine and Ron. He likes them both, and they both like and respect him.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

No I'm not. Its a fine first step that these guys seem to be okay with the Ron-Artest-media-circus.

Its a good sign. Nothing more. This alone isn't the desired end result.

IMO that's nit-picking. Jermaine's comments were classy and, as you said, a good sign. But instead you are upset he didn't explicitly talk about the team as a whole?

As opposed to the few posts before mine that seemed to jump straight from "this is a good first step" to "WHOO-HOO!! CHEMISTRY IS SOLVED!!"

    I can live with that.

You want to see nitpicking? You should see the types of comments on my reports when my boss is done reviewing them. Hey, we've got to get it 100% right, not 99.9%. Sorry that I'm not very good at lowering my expectations.

Perhaps I wasn't clear - I wasn't upset with JO for his comments at all. They weren't perfect but hey these guys are at least trying to play nice so I'll take it. I'm disappointed that some people are apparently overstating a good first step and are ready to declare it to be a finished product.

Ah, so you feel you have to balance out the forum's positive demeanor with some negativity of your own? So is this really your opinion we are getting, or... a mix of your's and the few posters above you?

Nitpicking really is fun. But seriously, I agree that we are far from a finished product, it is the second game afterall. But I like most of what I've seen so far.
