    Default NBAtv highlights vs. ESPN

I was just watching the highlights from the Heat game. The NBAtv highlights were pretty balanced, but mostly focused on the Pacers getting the win, showing Ron's three, JO's long jumper and his clutch left wing jumper at the end. Good highlights.

Now, when I watched the highlights on ESPN, it shows Shaq scoring, Wade going "coast to coast" and then Shaq getting hurt, and then Wade missing the three at the buzzer. They didn't show one Pacers highlight or bucket! Maybe it's no big deal, but that bugs me.

NBA-TV's recaps are always much more in-depth than ESPN's. They will actually focus on the plays that made a difference in the outcome of the game.

Then again, I think ESPN's "highlight show" format, the one that features dunks and plays from popular, high-profile players that often have nothing to do with the actual outcome of the game, is a sign of the pending fall of Western Civilization.

Watch this highlight by Wade. Watch this highlight by Shaq. Watch this flex by Zo. Watch Ron trip Shaq. Watch Wade miss this three. Here are the stats for Shaq and Wade. Oh yeah, in case you care, the Pacers dominated most of the game, held on, and won. Now lets talk about Shaq's injury.

Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

ESPN is a god awful network, we all know that.

ESPN is notorious for showing highlights of one team scoring all the time and then at the end the guy says "but the other team managed to win." Drives me friggin' crazy.

Thank God I'm not alone on this. I was beginning to think I was.

I guess I'll just avoid their coverage as much as possible and stick to the NBATV highlights.

I don't have NBATV either, but they have all their highlights on NBA.com for free.
