Not sure I understand the Billy Graham comment.

    Other than that, good article.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

What Scoop said about Jackson is true and he should be held accountable.

Scoop said..."Turned to the dark side, turned righteous, turned into Billy Graham"

Scoop should also be held accountable for his own bigotry.

Amen brother! Who's got literature for him? OK, sorry, Billy Graham is great, he's done wonderful things, but that was just waiting to be said.

I normally don't like Scoop. I think some level of professionalism must be maintained, and he fails to do so. Especially when I see him on ESPN in a baggy shirt and bleached jeans. Now, I have no problem with those things, but, Scoop, get the scoop, guys on ESPN wear suits and ties for a reason. Be a professional, be more presentable.

On what he said about Jackson however, I must agree. I've never liked Jackson myself. I mean, which one of us, save MagicRat couldn't have "lead" the MJ Bulls or the Kobe/Shaq Lakers to at least one championship? Let's see what he's got this year. Still has Kobe, but, who else? Will he make them a good team because of his coaching, and not just superstar players?

Seriously, I'm a Christian so maybe I'm biased.

Does anybody really have strong feelings against Billy Graham? Say what you want, but the guy's been a model of integrity for an entire lifetime. His message is always the same: God loves you right now, just the way you are.

How can you hate on Billy G?

I think Scoop went too far, which as a journalist, makes him worse than Phil Jackson. What Phil said was an ignorant statement about the hip-hop culture, which he knows nothing about. Scoop is trying hard not to let his racism show, but during the article he tries to transform it from a culture issue to a race issue, when it's clearly not. You think poor inner city families buy up all the hip-hop CDs? You think poor black kids are the ones buying Sean Jean by the armful? It happens, but it's predominately a white-dominated suburbs that actually embraces the hip-hop culture, or at least, the type of image Scoop is talking about. Regardless, it's not a race issue in the least, but you can tell he's going there, and you can also tell he's trying to not go there at the same time. All in all, I'm more offended by what Scoop said than by what Phil said. Phil made an ignorant statement about a culture. Scoop tried to interpret that as an ignorant statement about a race. As a bonus, in my opinion, anyone who agrees with Kanye West is already a racist in my book.

    And I LOATHE Phil Jackson.
