Default Quick question about league pass

How is it determined what teams brodcast you see? Is it a home/away thing? Is it random?

I'm new to league pass, and since I'll be at most of the home games, I'm curious as to how often I'll be hearing the Indy brodcast.

I don't have LP, but I seem to remember others saying that it is usually the hometeam broadcast.

It is usually the home team. Although for other reasons certain teams gets preferential treatment.

Lots of times it is the home team but there is no rule. Its just what broadcast they pick. The wierd thing is that some years it was the other way arround you would usualy hear the road feed.

Always seems like the Knicks, Heat, Celtics, Lakers, Rockets always get their announcers.

When I get the Celtics announcers I put my TV on mute.

    Uh Oh.

I was under the mistaken assumption that I would be able to choose.

Living way out here, I doubt I'll be able to hear a single Indiana feed all year.

No, you don't get to pick. Microsoft's promised "Ultimate Television" allegedly would allow you pick from multiple audio streams of the same video (e.g., home television, road televsion, national television, home radio, road radio, national ratio, spanish radio, whatever). But that's nowhere close to reality, as far as I know.

When the LP was strictly a DirecTV product, and before DirecTV put local channels (e.g. WTTV) onto the satellite, it was almost always the "home" team's announcers because that was generally a regional sports network that was already on the dish (in other words, no extra cost.)

That pattern generally holds true today - you will rarely see the WTTV broadcast on the LP. And yes, teams with very high television ratings on the LP tend to get their broadcasters on more often.

Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Another question, I've had LP for a couple years, but since I'm going to be out of the country for at least 3 weeks this winter, I was debating just waiting til half season to buy the package.

Is there a significant price break?

I could just buy Audio Pass until I got back in January. ($20)

I think that's true, I've seen commercials on DirecTV for discounted mid-season pricing, but IIRC, the discount doesn't kick in until around/ after the ASG, if not later (like around the time the NCAA tourney ends.)

Its not a pro-rated thing, and I don't think it drops all the way to half price (more like it drops to $100).

BUT - if you buy between the free week and the all star game, you actually pay more than if you buy right now.

Is there a free week for the NBA League pass this week?

If so...is it available on DirectTv?

Yes and Yes. The mid-season package was 109 last year. I got it last season. I went full monty this year. Watching Bucks/Sixers in OT as I type. Bucks look pretty good.
