I'm a little confused. The trade is Hughes/JJ for AI...?

    Oh, Jesus...

Thanks, Shade. I guess I should say who they want from me.

Hughes + Joe Johnson for Kobe Bryant.
    Ah, I see.

Man, that's a toughie. If I were you, though, I would stay with Kobe. I kind of expect him to explode this year. In fact, I would have picked him for my team if I hadn't been stuck at #17 for my first pick.

Personally I would never seek to trade quality for quantity unless my roster had incredible injury issues or depth problems and I was in panic mode to survive.

    Keep Kobe.

You could compare statistically Kobe + the guy you would cut (J.R.?) vs. Hughes and JJ, but that might be a waste of time since everyone but Kobe has a new role this year.

I seldom, if ever trade 1 for multiply players.

Something else to keep in mind is that both Hughes & Johnson might have had break out years last season but they are also both on new teams. I think their numbers will suffer, if even a little.

If you had a weaker lineup, maybe........ but as deep as youe squad is, I'd pass on this deal.

Now that I know I'm an old vet I'm sure my opinion of your next trade will be somewhat different.

    Speaking of the KL

Gadzuric was the starting center for the Bucks a week ago. Now they plan on starting Magloire & Smith with Bogut coming off the bench.

Man I hope they trade Gadz to the Suns. He would be a perfect fit in Phoenix.

I'm counting on Joe Johnson to put up good numbers in Atlanta. If he doesn't, I'm toast.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

Not sure that'll matter much - didn't he average about 20 mpg anyway?

Something like that. I was just hoping with that shiny new contract & all the talk of him starting at center & maybe playing some 4 that he would at least play a little more.

Seems like Magloire, Bogut & Smith will be getting the lions share of the minutes.

Gadzuric seems like the odd man out.

I hope they get something good for him in a trade.

Joe Smith sits with an achy knee and Bogut starts at PF, for game 1 anyway.

Woe is me, having Joe in both leagues.

I'm so desperate in the keeper league, with Amare out too, that I picked up Austin Croshere to make sure my F minutes are covered.
