O'Neal assesses Pacers' talent

For 18 years, the Indiana Pacers tried to win a ring with Reggie Miller.
This year, they'll try to do so without.

"We have all the talent in the world," Pacers forward Jermaine O'Neal said during the team's media day this afternoon. "If we can go out and compete every single night, I'm talking about competing, we have a chance to win every single game. That's yet to be seen. That's why you play games. Hopefully we can put out that type of effort."
The Pacers, who open training camp Tuesday afternoon, have one of the deepest teams in league.
The Pacers get forward Ron Artest back after he missed most of last season for his part in the brawl at Palace of Auburn Hills last November. They drafted Danny Granger and signed guard Sarunas Jasikevicius.
"We have a lot of talented players," Pacers president Larry Bird said.
The Pacers' biggest challenge likely will come from Detroit and Miami, both of which reached the Eastern Conference finals last season.
