The Patriots are scrambling. They entered the game minus injured cornerbacks Randall Gay and Tyrone Poole, who didn't make the trip. Cornerback Duane Starks went down with a sore shoulder on the first play of the game, but he was able to return. Then, bad things started to happen. Strong safety Rodney Harrison suffered what is believed to be a torn ACL midway through the first quarter. Left tackle Matt Light suffered either a fracture near an ankle or an Achilles injury in the second quarter.

"Like [Jonathan Bender], AMC's Pacer was supposed to be fitted with a rotary engine--but both rotaries had technical problems late in their development (read: after incurring heavy research costs) that prevented them from seeing the light of day. Of course, both vehicles had plenty of problems that did reach production. The Pacer was a dud in terms of quality, execution and particularly styling. Make your own assessment about its bizarre proportions, but don't miss the one door that's bigger than the other."

I know he's not the most popular guy for anyone who isn't a Pats fan but that sucks.

I wish him a speedy recovery.

It looked bad, and so did Matt Light's injury. But that team is just as tough as nails, and just doesn't let anything rattle them.

The Matt Light injury 'should've' been a bigger factor. We immediately put Farrior and Porter over the top of his rookie replacement, and forced consecutive three-and-outs. But then, the Patriots made some adjustments, we stopped blitzing, and Brady found his groove.

Those Patriots just keep finding ways to beat us. They're poised, well-coached, and physically and mentally tough.

I spent the entire third quarter saying, "I can't believe we're beating this team" and the entire fourth quarter saying, "****! I knew this was coming."

BTW, that was clearly Antwaan Randel-El's worst game as a pro. What was he thinking with that lateral - we were in the red zone and had momentum... And then he just plain stops on a down-and-in route and he's very lucky the replay proved the defender trapped the interception. And I think the Steelers only had four penalties, but by my count Kendall Simmons had all four of them - including a false start that took a FG off the board and a holding call that pushed us back out of FG range.

So that's either 9 or 13 points that we "could've" had, but gave away with unforced errors.

BTW, where's my Steelers' homeboy, MSA2CF? I don't think I've seen him around all summer. Jeromie Bettis could've been quite useful for us yesterday.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

Yeah you could tell by Harrison's expression , he knew it was real serious.

That is a tough break, but sure enough the Patriots keep rolling on.

I stole this from the "other" board but I think it makes sense.

"Karma: An action and its consequences; the idea, in Hindu thought, that ones' behavior in life determines one's future reincarnations; what goes around comes around; the notion is similar to Moira, Namtar, Fate, and Christian ideas of reward and punishment in the afterlife.

Throwing around the notion of Karma while gloating over someone's pain is giving you very very bad karma."

I watched that. That had to REALLY hurt. It sucks for the Pats, but, that's fine with me. It really sucks for Harrison, which, in turn saddens me. I hate to see guys hurt, and that HURTS.

Now, if someone knocks Brady out, the road to the Super Bowl will be paved Blue and White.

I heard on the radio today they still don't know the extent of the injury.

And I'm not gloating. I hope he has a speedy recovery from whatever the injury is. Just trying to make a humorous connection between Rodney's (earned?) reputation as a dirty player and a sitcom premise. Apparently I failed miserably.......

I wonder if the Pats will start trying to make a move or two.
