    Default So, what now?

With Finley likely on his way to Miami, what do we do to counter the Heat's acquisitions this offseason? Or do we need to do anything?

    Ron Mercer...the Finley stopper.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

We need to make one or two little moves to get some role players and maybe trim down the point-guard spot a little. I would say that Donnie stays pat for the most part (I would like to see a little more action though).

I still think the Pacers should make a play for Etan Thomas from the Wizards. He's a solid 6'10" 260 lb., a very good rebounder and shot blocker, and a solid scorer.

    Is he a free-agent?

If not, who do you think the Whiz would want in return?

    http://www.nba.com/playerfile/etan_thomas/index.html

Questions about his durabilty. Out of 4 seasons he had one season where he played a fair amount of games.

And in all of those seasons he didn't have a season that was very impressive. Maybe his season of 2 years ago, he was ok then but Etan is owed 32 million over the next 5 years and I would perfere to stay away from Etan depending on if he can stay healthy or not.

In the history of basketball, no one player has owned another quite like Shawn Respert owned Finley back in college. Of course, that was before he had cancer, blew out his knee, and retired, in that order no less. But, what the hell, let's sign him anyway! He was great in Europe!

I don't see any more trades coming this off-season.

What I see is something done with Eddie Gill [Ok so maybe a small trade or he will be wavied.] and then if I were Indiana I would give my attention to Jerome Williams. This would be the guy I want on the team.

If getting Jerome fails I would then try and make a run for Othella Harrington [likely to re-sign with the Bulls though.] Robert Tractor Traylor, or even Calvin Booth.

Unfortunately, Respert couldn't own Weber State.....

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

    Is Gill's contract guaranteed?

Yeah that is pretty much my line of thinking as well.
They are at 14 players now so if they sign a needed back up PF. Eddie Gill will need to be waived or cut in order to resign JJ

Ron owns Finley. And if Miami signs him, that means they won't sign DD, JJ, or Damon Jones.

I think Fin will sign with the Suns. At least I hope he does, no need for the Heat to get any stronger, as long as he doesnt go to the Heat or Pistons I dont give a **** where he goes.
