Default OT: a cool site called whatifsports.com

It simulates matchups of any 2 teams in NBA history and predicts an outcome, with a boxscore.

    http://www.whatifsports.com/nba/default.asp

I plugged in the 61-62 Philadelphia Warriors vs. the 1999-2000 Pacers.

50 pts, 20 rebounds, 10 blocks, 1 assist was the predicted line for Wilt in one game.

I had them play 4 times, and got a 4-0 sweep for Philly

The poster "pacertom" since this forum began (and before!). I changed my name here to "Slick Pinkham" in honor of the imaginary player That Bobby "Slick" Leonard picked late in the 1971 ABA draft (true story!)

I plugged those Warriors in vs. the 99-00 Lakers.

    Game 1 @ LA: Warriors 88, Lakers 83 [Wilt 35/22/8, Shaq 14/11/3]
    Game 2 @ LA: Warriors 106, Lakers 103 [Wilt 42/17/7, Shaq 21/11/4]
    Game 3 @ Philly: Warriors 89, Lakers 69 [Wilt 37/37/8, Shaq 13/12/5]
    Game 4 @ Philly: Lakers 97, Warriors 87 [Wilt 43/19/7, Shaq 34/13/5]
    Game 5 @ LA: Warriors 113, Lakers 101 [Wilt 49/18/6, Shaq 16/6/7]

Warriors win, 3-1. Wilt averages 41.2 PPG, 22.6 RPG, 7.2 BPG. Shaq averages 19.6 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 6.8 BPG.

    Cool site.

I just ran the 83 Sixers against the 71 Bucks - the two best champions that didn't repeat so everyone forgets about them...

It came down to a deciding game #7 (I gave the Sixers homecourt since that is still be best team I've ever watched.), and Mo had 27 pts. and 14 rebs. head to head with Alcinder (31 and 12). Oscar, however was completely schooled by Andrew Toney.

Just contemplating that the Bucks could take that Sixers team to a seventh game is quite a testament to the Bucks.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

    Game 5 @ LA: Warriors 113, Lakers 101 [Wilt 49/18/6, Shaq 16/6/7]

Warriors win, 3-1. Wilt averages 41.2 PPG, 22.6 RPG, 7.2 BPG. Shaq averages 19.6 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 6.8 BPG.

Wilt's best team in Philly was the 66-67 team. I did a sim with the 66-67 vs. 82-83 76ers; the '83 team won in 7 games.

Whats up with the 99-00 Pacers they have Reggie coming off the bench. I fixed their starting lineup and did some sims with that team and they definitely underrate that Pacers squad.

Well, its not perfect. I just tried to run some of the mid-80s Pacers teams against the Lakers, and I couldn't get the simulation to give Stipo more than eight minutes per game. Why do I think I'm the first person in the history of that site to try to use the 84/85 and 85/86 Pacers?

    They have ABA stats.

The '71-'72 Pacers just clobbered the '99-'00 Pacers.
