Cooler than the other side of the pillow always was my favorite phrase of his. Cancer is a cruel son of a *****, can't wait till the day cancer is hardly much of a deal anymore...it just seems so horrible at its worst.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

He was one of my favorite sports personalities. I don't know why, but I was under the impression that he was beating it. I found out on twitter and was in shock. He passed way too young, but will least an everlasting impression.

Like Luck said after the game yesterday, for many of us in our mid to late 20s and early 30s, Stu was an ESPN staple comparable to anything else consistent with our childhoods. His arrival at ESPN changed the way the channel operated and really the way sports connected to the rest of the world.

He seemed genuine too in the way he behaved unlike some of the other guys who have come through ESPN especially recently.

Just a bummer. Obviously ESPN had to know the end was near based on the interviews they already had recorded. Watching the sportscenter on ESPN after the late night bowl game ended was rough. Scott Van Pelt was near tears in every segment.

It was a very somber day at our family Christmas gathering. Stuart Scott was the voice that so many of the men in my family recognized as ESPN in its early development and are all shocked to see him taken from us at a young age. Kind of reminds me when my own father passed from cancer at 52. Cancer is one ***** of a disease and hopefully one day there will be a cure.
