    A reminder to everyone....

We are using a $42M salary cap for this game.

Please be careful to keep your total team roster under the cap.

to be clear, one player cant be selected twice, correct? So you can just draft one player, and pick the year later on.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

    Division Champions 1955, 1956, 1988, 1989, 1990, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
    Conference Champions 1955, 1956, 1988, 2005
    NBA Champions 1989, 1990, 2004

That is correct, once a player is drafted, they're gone, I'm just waiting a bit to choose the years, after my team is drafted, so I can manage my cap number better.

I pretty much know what years I want, but if towards the later rounds, I have to pick a bunch of players not on my list, then I'll have the ability to choose different years, of a lesser cap hit, and not be locked into a specific year already.

The main reason I'm doing it that way is because we're locked into the 42M salary cap, and when we played last year, we didn't have one, so I'm just trying to make sure I can squeeze the players I'd like on the roster, salary-wise.

    2 questions:

    1) how does the salary structure work?

    2) how do blocks and steals count for players before 1975?

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Salary structure is basically just whatever 12 players you can fit on there, without going over 42 million. I know that sounds vague, but if you chose to pick one player at 12 mil, and then 11 players at 2.75 mil you could, or if you wanted 12 players at 3.5 mil, you could, it's pretty much your choice.

As far as stats go, I know the NBA didn't keep track of blocks and steals back in the day, but the engine they use to simulate games takes that into consideration, and if when you're searching players on the WIS website, list a player you're thinking of, and look at their stat lines, I think the simulation engine kind of guesses for blocks, & steals, because Chamberlain, and even Mikan have stats listed for assists, steals, and blocks.

Just log into your account on WIS, and go to Manage My Team, and then go to the Draft Center, and then start looking up players by name, position, or stats.

Now why would you select someone who was never truly a dominant big man, despite the fact he hardly ever missed?

It might. They have changed the game somewhat from last season. When Oscar played they were not playing 82 games. If he missed some due to an injury then that might effect, affect or impact how he does in your games.
