It didnt seem like he started 80 games, and I watched A LOT of Bucks games this year too..

I don't think thats accurate, either.

Nevertheless, James still played better, and he was always in during crunch time.

THey also went in the tank after they let him go.

    hmmmm.....u like stats....

    williams last season

    28 mpg 10.2 ppg 6 APG

    james 47 games with milwaukee

    25 mpg 11.4 ppg 4 APG

both shot about the same percentage from the field, james is the better 3 point shooter while williams is the better free throw shooter....they both had similar steal numbers, as well as rebounding numbers....

so really the only thing that sticks out is the assists numbers....hmmmm...

That, and Williams put up most of his big numbers in the last 2 months of the year when the Bucks weren't playing for anything. Atleast James was there when their season halfway mattered...

well....hell....i assumed u at least knew a little about what u were talking about....

this all was based on the fact u said he started for porter....

    and he never did....

    duh....lets see...

and as far as them going downhill after the trade, im guessing the fact kvh being gone might have a little something to do with that....

calvin booth isnt quite the player van horn was....

which once again cant get him into a starting lineup....not even in milwaukee where they lose their starting pg and are left with a 2nd year guy to start that hasnt played much....hmmmmm.....

Aside from the fact I was wrong about him starting, I was right on about everything else.

I'm still no sold on those stats saying Williams started 80 games. I really thought he was 3rd in the PG rotation to start the year behind James and Erick Strickland. Maybe not though, just seems weird to me.

Also, a big reason why I assumed he started was because he was ALWAYS on the floor in the 4th quarter, not Mo WIlliams.

we know, we know....he was in during the 4th quarter just like he started

my guess is he was in during the 4th quarter...as both of them played similar minutes.....not sure what that means....

mo williams played a few more minutes...

28-25 is hardly a huge difference....

so at least james can know he just barely got beat out by the 2nd string point guard

Could the Clippers be interested in JWill?

I doubt it. They have their starter in Livingston, and a solid backup in Brunson.

I thought I had read something the other day that the Celtics were interested in Jason Williams. Probably to start over Marcus Banks.
Thanks for getting this thread back on track.

The rumor was JWill for Mark Blount. One bad contract for another. Boston is one place where JWill would surely be a starter...

Yeah, that's true. I haven't seen Livingston play yet ... is he ready for starting now? I have heard he's supposed to be a very good PG in the future if he stays healthy and bulks up a bit, but that's about it.

    Mourning

He was hurt most of last year, but when he DID play, he was pretty damn good.

I saw him light up the Spurs in March. Nobody on that team could guard him.

There's not a team in the league that would take Mike James over Maurice Williams.
Mike James is average. At best. He's also a ripe 30 years old. He's hit his peak and his peak is below average starter, solid backup.
Mo on the other hand, just got done finishing #3 in the NBA in AP48 as a 22 year old!
This guy is one of the most underrated players in the league, once he's fully matured and becomes a full time starter, I fully expect numbers in the area of 15 ppg, 9 apg, 4 rpg. Just a phenomanal young player. I'd seriously consider taking him over T.J Ford even without the back injuries.

I totally agree, I hope TJ doesn't just assume the starting job is his now. He will have to earn that away from Mo. Either way they have a nice 1,2 punch at PG. Bucks could be tough next year if Bogut isn't completely bogus.
