Default 2017 Non Colts NFL Season Thread

I didn't realize until now that was offseason stuff.

Now since the regular season is here there should be a different thread.

As Irma hits Miami, Dolphins hope for a normal work week in California

Hurricane Irma is moving in on Miami this morning, causing a mass evacuation and moving the Dolphins home game originally scheduled for today into November. But the Dolphins are trying to change their routine as little as possible.

The Dolphins chartered flights for players, coaches and staffers to California, where they’ll spend this week practicing at the Cowboys’ training camp facility in Oxnard before playing against the Chargers in their Week Two opener.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, the Dolphins are trying to have as normal a work week as possible. They’ll be off on Monday, have a team meeting on Tuesday and then practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the same way they would any other week.

After playing the Chargers, the Dolphins are hoping their facility is in good enough shape that they can return to Miami for a normal week of practice before their Week Three game at the Jets. From there they travel to London to play the Saints. The Dolphins’ first game in Miami this season is scheduled for Sunday, October 8, in Week Five.

Don't worry, the Colts-Rams showdown will change that
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

That game was pretty competitive. Outside of my Bears hatred that game didn't interest me beyond that on its own.

Although it did show me not to put a lot of stock in the preseason how many people said Glennon and Bortles were awful and shouldn't even be a starter yet both guys played well and in Bortles case in a blowout win.

Texans don’t name QB for Thursday’s game

The Texans pulled Tom Savage during an ugly loss to the Jaguars on Sunday and coach Bill O’Brien won’t say if Savage will get another turn on Thursday in Cincinnati.

O’Brien said he’d look at the film before choosing between Savage and Deshaun Watson in Week Two. He did explain why he decided to make a change on Sunday and pointed to an offensive line playing without left tackle Duane Brown, who is holding out in hope of a new deal.

“The decision to go with Deshaun didn’t have a whole lot to do with, had more to do with could we find spark,” O’Brien said, via Mark Berman of KRIV. “Could we find somebody to make a play, that could escape the pocket. I thought Tom really hung in there and played very tough. We had a hard time protecting him. So I just made the decision to go with Deshaun.”

Sunday’s game made Brown’s position look a lot stronger, although the short week doesn’t leave much time to get him back and ready to play before facing the Bengals on Thursday.

TERRIBLE instant replay call in the Redskins game.

That said, this Redskins team wants to go 0-16. Pathetic. Just pathetic.

And Cousins camp wants him to be the highest paid QB in the league. That is laughable.

Tom Savage wasn't even that great in college. The NFL QB talent pool is bad these days.

I'm enjoying Sam Bradford shred the Saints defense

I have always wanted to see him put it together either the team isn't the right fit or he's injured.

Romo as a commentator is surprisingly decent not sure he should really get the coveted spot next to Jim Nantz but being in the booth suits him.

He strained his larynx late in the 4th qtr. He's listed as questionable for this Sunday.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Nantz needs to do a better job blocking.

Anyone else listen to the horror show that was Beth Mowins, Rex Eyan, and Sergio Dipp? This is the best B squad ESPN could put together? They are seriously missing Tirico.

    I think you mean Ryan

And I didn't stay up late to watch the whole game but yeah I don't find her that impressive(and I'm a female saying this). She's going to be calling the Browns/Colts game I would say that's a bad thing but the Colts and Browns are playing so really its fitting.

Report: Charles Tillman training to join FBI

Football players wind up doing a wide variety of things once their playing days are over with coaching and broadcasting serving as popular post-retirement choices.

Former Bears and Panthers cornerback Charles Tillman did some television work last year, but is now reportedly moving in a different direction. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports via multiple sources that Tillman hopes to land a job with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is currently training to make that happen.

A spokesman for the FBI’s Chicago office said they do not comment on personnel matters.

Tillman’s football skills may not make for an obvious crossover with FBI work, although Johnny Utah made it work in Point Break. If nothing else, the Peanut Punch he used to dislodge 44 footballs over the course of his career could come in handy in certain situations.

New hires for the FBI must be younger than 37 and Tillman turns 37 next February, so there’s a limited window for Tillman, who has a degree in criminal justice from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, to get hired before he’ll have to shift his aspirations elsewhere.
