Out of curiosity, I did a little research.

Since I think we will win around 35 games, I went back to the 2008-09 season when we went 36-46. Our coach was JOB. The 5 guys that started most often were:

T.J. Ford; Jack; Marquis Daniels; Granger and Murphy.

The guys getting the most time off the bench were:

Foster; Brandon Rush; Nestervic; Hibbert (rookie season); Stephen Graham and Denier. Dunleavy only played 18 games that year.

Our projected starting lineup this year is:

Collison; Oladipo; Bojan; TYoung and Turner.

    Our projected bench is:

Joseph; Lance; GRIII; Sabonis and Jefferson.

In my opinion, this year's team should be as good as the '08-09 team. I think the 31.5 wins that are being projected is a little low.

The official numbers are on the left, I just said over or under on them on the right.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

How about 2014-2015 when we went 38-44 & missed the playoffs by 1 game?

Roy Hibbert / Lavoy Allen / Ian Mahinmi
    David West / Luis Scola
    Solomon Hill / Damo Rudez
    CJ Miles / Rodney Stuckey
    George Hill / CJ Watson

??? PG played last few games but still, I like 2017-2018 lineup more

Also, if this more or less plays out as they predict, the Pacers should have a pick around #7 in the draft. How would you feel about having the 7th pick in the 2018 draft? What's the current expectation for the prospects at the top of the draft? Top heavy, deep? With what type of players?

According to most conventional wisdom, there are 5 pretty good players in this draft and the quality drops off after that. NBAdraft.net has Wendell Carter as #7. He's a big who could be good some day if ... .

It's 5 deep right now, in September, so that's a good thing. Once the season plays out that'll only grow once we see all these unknown freshman play. Come June 2018 it very well could be a 7, 8, 9, 10 player draft. 2017 was a "7-player draft."

Right now the 5 players who are "can't miss"

Michael Porter Jr. - SF Mizzou
Marvin Bagley Jr. - SF Duke (he'd be my #1 pick)
    DeAndre Ayton - C Arizona
    Muhammad Bamba - C Texas
    Lunka Doncic - SG Intl

That list will only grow. #7 overall would be good. Right now I like Colin Sexton PG Alabama if we had the 7th.

We also had a way better coach
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

I was totally wrong last year when I thought they would win 50+, so I guess I'll go out on a limb again and suggest 40+ with a trip to the playoffs. I was very frustrated by their inconsistencies, I think this year we'll have a lot more consistent hustle. Perhaps not the talent but more team pride. As always, time will tell. I'm looking forward to the season. I"m also going to try to keep track of the "great" draft choices to see if any are really going to have a big impact on the game.
