For people to say he couldn't play in todays game is wacky. He was as strong as Shaq and as fast (end to end) as most guards. He was coordinated and skilled. If blocks were tracked he would still own the record today.

He could most definitely play today, but he was in no way as strong as Shaq. That isn't to mean he would be considered weak, but Shaqs strength was on another level.

I think you're confusing strength with bulk.

    this.

don't get me wrong that guy was a beast but a good portion of those blocks would not be blocks today.

I'm not confusing the two. I understand there is a difference, I also understand a big reason why Shaq had so much bulk was because of how strong he was.

No one doubts his strength but that was after years of weight training. Who knows what Shaq could do if he put his mind to it.

And a good portion of his baskets would be offensive goaltending. He made a living dunking teammates shots before they cracked down on it.

...aaaaaaaaand to be fair a good portion of shaq' baskets would be offensive fouls 50 years ago.

Most gifted, no question. If he actually had his head on straight he would have won 12 championships.

    Thanks for posting that.
All I can say is amazing.
You can call some of those blocks goal tending but Wilt had some clean blocks at or near the top of the back board. I've never seen anyone block a shot that high.
Larry Bird qouted March 25th. 2015:

Bird: I wanted to keep our group together because in the summer, if David and Roy opt out, we're back to zero, really. We don't have that much, so you leave your options open. If we did make a trade, I didn't want to take on a lot of contracts -- because that's what usually happens. Plus, I liked my guys. They're playing well. If we keep the core together and Paul comes back healthy, we'll be right back to where we were.

Similar but shaq couldn't do all the things wilt could. The talent gap between he and the rest of the NBA wasn't nearly as large.

Sure shaq should have way more than one MVP but the depth of the NBA from 93-07 makes it hard for me to say with any confidence that he'd have much more than 4 championships if he had been more focused.

Silly response, had he been center of the Celtics, or for that matter the Royals, he would have had many more championships. He had little help from the teams he was on.

He began his career with the two hall of fame cornerstones of the warriors championship team just 4 years earlier. Save for a couple lean years, Wilt's teams did not ever lack for talent at all. In fact his Sixers teams in the late 60s were flat out better.

Did russsell generally have more around him? Yes. Was chamberlain good enough to make up that difference by himself? Easily. Russell simply had a better grasp on the concept of winning games that Wilt did. Even Wilt admitted that. Wilt was primarily interested in all the ways he could break the game statistically.

Should you maybe try doing your homework so you know what you're talking about before you post this? Absolutely.
