...that Ron Artest came to the Fever game today, seated next to Donnie Walsh. They introduced him on the PA and the crowd CHEERED (as opposed to booed).

Oh, and the Fever beat Connecticut, the best team in the league.

Sorry, like I said, slow day.

    EDIT: the article I posted:

Yeah, Jerm posted a pic of it earlier.

Sassan would go wild with the fact that everyone cheered instead of booing. Further proof that only us internet fanboys are haters!

(BTW, I think Grace owes me a Brad Miller thread now, I mentioned Sassan. )

Well, to be fair, today was camp day (day game), and half the crowd consisted of an ugodly horde of screaming eight-year-olds. They cheered at every opportunity and I swear they sounded like a plague of locusts at times...
That's pretty much why we stopped getting Fever tickets. Seems like that happened every other game.

Oh, man, don't even get us started on the year we got Colts tickets.

I still get Purdue football tickets, though this may very well end up being the last year.

    Short version:

    Seats sucked.

Dome is an eyesore, inside and out. No soul or character, whatsoever.

Fans drunken, embarrasingly crass idiots. I'd call them "hooligans", but that suggests a level of achievement they could only aspire to.

Yeah, I figured you'd mention how crappy the RCA dome is.

I saw the Dream Team play an exhibition there in 96, a Colts game in 97, and IU-UK games in 97, 99, and 03.

It's a hideous place. It was built in 1983 but looks like it was built in 1943. The concourses are drab and have no character whatsoever.

Maybe I'm just spoiled after spending time at a class facility like the fieldhouse, where plenty of work went into making the concourses look grand.

Even for a dome it sucks. I've been to the Metrodome in Minny a couple times, and it's so much nicer it's not even funny.

Yes, the dome is as soulless a building as has ever existed, but in what I am certain is a blow to corporations everywhere, I continue to call it the Hoosier Dome. BTW, does anyone remember the controversy with former Chicago columnist Mike Royko when he completely trashed the 500, the Hoosier dome and pretty much everything in the state? There were some Royko dome t-shirts floating around with his likeness and the criss-crossed puff like roof of the dome instead of his (bald) head. I remember seeing the McMillian/Curtis Dickey backfield, which led the league in combined rushing under the taskmaster Frank Kush. My, how the Colts offense has evolved!

Good, he is going to be here we need to let the past go and hope for the best.

Good don't come we don't need you as a fan.

I agree, and also call it the hoosier dome, I hat the cooperate naming of stadiums, but I respect the owners of the stadium for tacking the money, it is a businesss. I don't have to respect it. It is a crummy field, we are getting a better one, The stadium is not the team, it may not be the best, but the Colts are giving us some incredibly exciting fun games. I regret that I had to give up my season tickets due to financial reasons. Frankly there is not really a bad seat in the house as small as it is.

All I can say about going to a Colts game is if a 10 year old Colts' fan is behaving worse than the Oakland Raider fans I'm not going to games any more.

Have you ever been to a Raiders game? Whats the big deal if you don't like the way they act don't go, it's in the spirit of fun, no one gets hurt. What the hell is wrong with going to support your favorite NFL or NBA team and having a good time while doing it?

If it infringes on my enjoyment of the game then I have a problem with it; therefore, I don't go. Excuse me for voicing my opinion.

Yea I probably should have made it clearer, I was just asking u if you have ever been to a Raiders game. Then I went into my little rant about people enjoying themselves.

Spoken by someone who's obviously never sat behind the columns. There's a reason they hang those TV's back there.

I've been to games where the Raiders played at the Hoosier Dome. There were a fair amount of Raider fans sitting around me. I didn't have any problems with them. It was the Colts fans I wanted to do bodily harm to.

To be quite honest the worst game was when we played the Detroit Lions. The Colts fans sitting next to me were so bad I actually apologized to the Lions fans who were sitting behind us.

Was that the game after the brawl? If so, I can see why we'd be a bit testy...

Oh, god no. This was 5 years ago. We were mediocre and the Lions were awful. There was a family with a couple Lions hats and shirts on who didn't do anything, just sat there and watched the game. People from all over our section were berating them. People walking up the aisle would stop and cuss them and their little kids out. It was the strangest, not to mention most embarrasing, thing I've ever seen.

My bad you are right I forgot about the few seats, what 0.5% BESIDE a column, the are no free standing columns in the hoosier dome. Please, your are just speaking BS. Oh wait you paid $14 and thought you would be on the front row 50 yard line. Give me a break.

I'm referring to the seats back by the suites on the lower tier. They're absolute crap, and they sure as hell cost more than $14.
