I love IU, very proud to be an alum, all that...but man Memorial Stadium has absolutely zero atmosphere.

I was mistaken on the snazzy uniforms--those are for a lesser team in a few weeks. Still, surprised they went with the most vanilla uniform option for this one.

Ohio State's CB's aren't looking at the ball. They've committed interference about five times now and only been flagged once. Being the Big Ten's pet has its benefits.

imo the officiating has been really good tonight.

So far we've managed to look like we belong on the same field as the #2 team in the country, but I'm not real encouraged about the second half. We can't keep expecting Cobbs to make tough catches while getting nothing on the ground.

We have seen this movie a hundred times. Hanging with these teams doesn't mean **** anymore. Tom Allen's whole thing is #breakthrough. He's going to preach the **** out of that in this locker room. Let's see if we can finally do it.

I think the atmosphere is pretty solid given that we historically have one of the worst programs in the NCAA in relation to our size/statue as a flagship state school. I think the atmosphere would take off if we could ever put a winning team out there. The fans have always been hungry for it, but historically it's just been near impossible for the masses to care.

Tons of loser programs have pretty decent atmosphere. Sure, there are valid reasons for it, but it is what it is.

I guess I don't think our atmosphere is that bad, all things considered.

For a Power Five school with the enrollment and alumni base that we have, eh, it's pretty weak. Agree to disagree.

Ohio State just pulled an IU--dropped a gimme touchdown and then turned it over on downs. That's a gift we need to take advantage of.

We're going to need to hit on some big plays because the offense is stalling and we can't run the ball.

Right, but in relation to the size of the school, our success in other sports, success of other schools in the conference, and the overall attractiveness/resources of the University, it's damn near being the worst historical football program in the entire NCAA....all things considered. Just not sure what you expect. The program hasn't really ever given people a reason to care that much. Just not sure what you expect. Yes, we can just agree to disagree.

This is the type of game that in recent years we've lost, keeping us in "close, but no cigar" status. If we win tonight, then I think that atmosphere would really start to tick up.

I don't really expect anything more, I'm just making an observation. Memorial Stadium's lack of atmosphere isn't exactly a hot take.

I think the tools are there for really good atmosphere though. I attended IU in the late 00's. I always remember people being pumped to attend games at the beginning of the year, then the brutal reality would set in. The exception was 07 when we beat Purdue to go to a bowl. That was some good atmosphere. If the program could just ever get a signature win like tonight, then I would love to see what could happen with the support.

Pretty much what Dakich is saying right now....give people a reason to care.

    Feels like that 2015 game.

The potential is there, no doubt. It just isn't there. Reasons for it, sure, and I don't blame people. Again, I'm just making a simple observation. If we win, it will improve. I have zero doubt of that.

The only successful offense for IU tonight has been throwing the ball to Simmie Cobbs.
