That rule change would devastate college basketball. You'd see a lot more kids go pro out of high school. I actually like the existing rule because it gives college basketball fans the chance to see top talent play for their school and in the NCAA tournament. Calipari would be *****ed on the bright side though.

On a different matter, Keion Brooks is visiting campus today. I expect him to wait until at least next year to make a decision. Five stars don't usually commit early.

I actually hate the current rule. If kids wanna go pro out of high school, just let them. If they wanna go to college for 1,2,3 or all 4... Let them.
It is because of the current rule that cal puts out the overpowered squads he does every year. I don't care for the proposed rule but, i like it better than what we currently have without question.

Of all the 1st round talent in 2016, 21 had no more than 1 year in college. And I think 3 had averaged over 10ppg. I like the baseball option. Borderline guys will go to college, flourish and be where the average high school drafted their rookie year. Of course, there will be one or two who might jump ahead above the college drafted players, but there will be more NBA rotational players drafted overall.

I definitely think we are in the driver's seat for Brooks. That 2019 class could be really special for IU.

Sure seems like it. Peegs said Brooks and his family are spending the night in Bloomington so they can spend more time with the coaching staff tomorrow.

Some good news- four star RB Ronnie Walker committed to IU today. He is one of our highest ranked recruits in recent memory. We also made Romeo Langford's final seven schools.

On a bad note, it appears that Vanderbilt, yes Vanderbilt, is a serious player in Langford's recruitment. Is Bryce Drew up to some shady **** like his brother Scott? Whatever it is they do, it is working.

I am glad to see that we have landed a couple of solid instate prospects in Anderson and Phinisee but if we want to be elite again we need to reel in the big fish. Oden, Conley, Hummel, Moore, Johnson, Tyler Zeller, Thomas, Teague, Dawson, Harris, Hammons, Dunham, Beachem, Jackson, Irvin, Lyles, Bluiett, Guy, Swanigan, Scruggs, Wilkes- the list of instate whiffs is a mile long. I am sick of it.

Our last three coaches sucked at recruiting the state. We landed a few elite talents (Gordon, Zeller, Yogi, JBJ) but they were few and far between.

Romeo isn't going to go to Vanderbilt. I know they are on his list but he isn't going there.

New Albany guard Romeo Langford, the fifth-ranked prospect in the country, is now considering Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, UCLA and Vanderbilt. New Albany coach Jim Shannon confirmed the list, which was first reported by Brian Snow of Scout.com.

Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

Please don't post pictures of my family here. My aunt does not like to have her photo online.

All of our 2018 BB recruits will be at the football game tomorrow night, along with Trayce Jackson-Davis, who visited campus just last weekend. He really likes IU and his family has said great things about Archie. Seems like he is ours to lose which makes the effort to land Jake Forrester even more odd. They play the same position.

Good news on the Darius Garland front- apparently we have made up ground in our efforts to land him.

We are going hard after Garland and Langford and have only two spots left at the moment. If Forrester commits we will have to use the oversign to get all three. One would think Archie expects some transfers in the spring.

Truth be told I don't think anything has changed with Garland. We're still a longshot to get him. The national pundits are parroting each other saying we made up ground, but I'm betting that has to do with him scheduling an official visit.

Don't deny me my simple pleasure of dreaming of a national championship roster! We haven't had many of those in the last 25 years.

Headed down to Bloomington. Tell my wife the bail money is in the top right dresser drawer and the life insurance documents are in the safe.

Here's hoping we don't get embarrassed tonight. We all know what IU football usually does when the lights get brighter and the stage gets bigger.

    My predictions:
The defense will be fine for 2.5-3 quarters before Sloopy starts to roll
Wilson will draw up at least one gadget play that will gouge us
We will be reminded very quickly why we lost all faith in Richard Lagow last year

Keep it really close and then lose by 3-7 points in heart breaking fashion over the past 5-10 years.

Gameday loses it's luster without the crowd behind it. Having it in Memorial Stadium is lame as ****.

He is a very emotional guy. It has made him a good defensive coordinator because his players really buy into what he is selling. Let's see if it makes him a great head coach.

The stadium looks beautiful on TV, btw.

This is a real **** up by IU to have the desk in the stadium. Why would you come back any time soon?
