    32. Larry Hughes Everyone keeps talking about Redd and Allen this summer why doesn't anyone mention Hughes?
I bet this is who we try to get in a sign and trade this summer.

Hughes would definitley be an excellent addition to the team this year.

But... I don't think I would want to give up anything more then Jax.

Interesting... Donnie's been high on Hughes for a long time. I never saw what he did until this year.

I was shocked at how high Simmons put Melo and Yao. They'd be WAY down on the list for me.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

Strangely, I feel that is about a realistic take where Artest truly ranks. And damn did his description for Big Ben ever make me giggle like a little schoolgirl

    12. Jermaine O'Neal He's a 3G Guy for me (great player, great warrior, great guy) and I still don't think he should have been suspended 15 games for punching that moron who wandered onto the court when Ben Wallace only got five games for starting the fight and helping to incite the crowd to "Maybe I'll lob a beer at Artest"-level proportions. David Stern's dumbest decision since shaving his mustache 20 years ago.

Artest was at 25 last year...

Only fell 5 spots and didn't play 90% of the season. This guy must have not gotten the "hate on ronnie" memo from the league.

While I don't necessarily agree wth the list or the order of the list, I must say he knows the NBA, it is obvious to me he watches a lot of NBA basketball, most if not all of his breakdowns of the individual players is 100% correct.

He is 100% correct on Dirk. Put a smaller athletic guy on Dirk and he struggles. I saw it when Ron defended him.

I've liked Hughes from way back when he was drafted by the Sixers, I think he'd be a nice addition to the team, he'll be a a lot older and wiser since those days so who knows what could happen...

Hughes is not the guy to get if you want shooting. He is a worse shooter than Fred, Jax or Artest.

Maybe not the most accurate shooter (neither are the guys you mentioned) but he is a better and more complete offensive player. Better scorer, period. And don't tell me he plays one-on-one too much because Jax and Artest are just as guilty of that as anyone in the league.

That's what I was getting ready to say. Hughes is great, but to give up Jackson and others for him would be a risk, as our best starting outside shooter would become either Artest or Tinsley.

Except for shooting, Hughes is a great player, there is not much else he can't do

With the exception of KG (because he's a complete athletic freak), that's true of any 7-footer without much of a post game. There was this certain Pacer player, renowned for his performance in H-O-R-S-E ...

If you somehow got Hughes and kept Granger, Artest & JO, you could become the first NBA Champion that never even ATTEMPTS a 3-pt shot.

That would be absolutely scary talent-wise - especially with how his defense picked up last year. No team could defend you - and you'd have 3 lock-down defenders besides (year 2 for Granger - very few NBA rookies are great on D but he'll get there).

Simmons is a Bird slappy, and that's the only reason Ron Artest is on this list. You're telling me, RIGHT NOW, the Nets would trade Jefferson or Carter for Artest, the Sonics would trade Allen, the Bucks would trade Redd, the Kings would trade Bibby (or Peja for that matter). Please. That's ridiculous. Artest belongs in the "bid adieu" paragraph which followed the rules.

If the Pacers offered Artest for Prince under this scenario, I would turn it down without even thinking about it. And Prince isn't in Artest's league as a player.

Yeah, that was always why I was down on him.

The one I found most insane from the list is that the Suns wouldn't trade Steve Nash for Kobe Bryant.

I have my doubts especially with the age of the players.

Of course you'd turn down Artest for Prince. You guys would turn down Artest for Ham. As great as Artest is, even UncleBuck would have to admit that him being in Detroit would be a PR disaster.

What does he say, "I went into the stands, threw a couple punches, but it's okay, I'll never do it again."
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

If Artest has a great year and we still don't win it all and Jackson and Kobi find out they can not live happily ever after, do we work out an Artest for Kobi deal? I don't like Kobi, just throwing it out there, it is the silly season for b-ball.

He and his dad had Celtics season tickets since he was a kid. When he moved out to LA two years ago he got Clippers tickets.
