sorry, in combination with my earlier explanation that keeping Cro will likely cost the Pacers 30 million dollar over 2 years
(LT approx at 65 -66 mio, cliff at 70-71) we are close to 80 for this coming season, without a drop, so "keeping" Cro lands us firmly in LT land, meaning 1=1 fine above 65 mio, in other words 15 mio, times 2 = 30 million dollars, which would be the cost to keep the FT shooter on the team.
ok...i thought thats what u meant...just was a bit unclear if u were talking about saras or not....which didnt make sense....i had seen the earlier thing on austin....

Maybe I'm missing something, but if he's all that why wasn't he drafted?

People need to do quote's so reader's can understand what they are talking about.

I assume you are talking about Sarunus. He wasn't good enough to draft with his class. He made himself better in Europe and now he's a free agent that can play.

you obviously no nothing about this guy then.

is he as good as michael??? of course not. i'm implying that he's treated the same way over there as michael was here. he's the best player in europe and people treat him like it over there.

    I've seen him play.

I thought Toni Kukoc was still the European Michael Jordan.

I've seen Sarunas play. He has NBA talent, and will be a star here, mark my words. I absolutly think he is better then Tony Parker.

You can't tell if someone has NBA talent until they play against NBA talent.

The interesting comment that Bird made was that some players didn't work on their game during the summer and wouldn't be here next year. I'm trying to figure out who he is talking about. Tins, went to Florida and worked hard all last summer. So not him. Saurons is obviously a step in right now player, and while it takes some time to get to know the guys your passing too, he sounds like a possible answer.

The only player you don't hear about during the past few summers is Croshere, he shot 25% from the arc. Is he the one, but he's untradable? I can't think of anyone that doesn't work during the summer, Artest plays 24/7 and in the middle of snowstorms when he gets bored. JO is rehabing a little and is coming off a great season minus the injuries that slowed him and is arguably one of the best in the game right now. This is Harrisons first summer, who could he be talking about? He said "they know who they are".

Croshere and Reggie always used to workout together in LA. I doubt it's him.

Probably Pollard; plus I think he doubt's Bender's dedication, since he often opts out of playing in the summer league. He may question Tinsley's focus and dedication, too.

Thanks for explaining the reason he (Sarunas) wasn't drafted--under contract until this year. Makes sense.

I've heard a couple people say Bird has the inside track on the guy. Does anybody know why there is reason to think this?

One other question: Why wouldn't a free agent from Europe be part of this year's draft?

He wanted to choose his team and be able to negotiate a contract. He probably also feels he's above a silly little draft. (ok so i made up the last part)

Another reason why Sarunas Jasekevicius wasn't in this draft is quite simple , he played 4 years at Maryland , thus he was eligable for the 1995 or 96 draft and went undrafted.

Saras, was a shooting guard at Maryland, in the years since he has developed as a point guard. So the 6'4 Saras can play both guard spots.

His leadership, passing and outside shooting would all fit very well with the Pacers. Larry Bird , has spent a lot of time talking to his reps hopefully , he will sign here.

We can't "talk" with FA until July 1 and they can't sign until the 21st. IS that correct?

The two names I keep coming back to are. Antonio Daniels and Earl Watson. I would rather have AD, in fact I'll say it, I'd rather have Daniels than Tinsley. He's is my type of point guard.

Why? He isn't a great shooter, and he is weak on the boards. He would be my type of back-up PG, or he would even be a decent SG.

Sorry, didn't watch them. DId he look good against us?
(and what little I did see looked like zero defensive intensity on our part, so i'm not sure that counts for a lot)

Like 20 or 30lbs overweight. Cracks me up how all the "lovers" talk about what a training animal he is.

He came in at 260, he plays at roughly 245-250 I think.
