The only moves PD can unite against are when the Pacers get rid of a fringe roster player. See: Rudez, Damjan.

Not a fan of this. Seraphin was one of our few older players that I was perfectly fine with keeping.
If anything he was a very effective combination with Lance Stephenson off the bench. Perhaps Lance is starting and that's why they don't need Kevin.
Lance is finally home. Whether he becomes our starting PG or he's 6th man, he's getting big minutes and he's here to stay. #llortontnia

You know, those are two very cool names. Rather than John Williams or David Smith. We have guys with cool names. Unfortunately, they always sit.

I fully admit that I enjoyed Damjan's one big game against Orlando more than I probably should have lol

Getting rid of Damo was a horrible move. He had a really good relationship with GHill and could shoot.

I liked Seraphin, like most here. But I'm assuming he got a chance to play more elsewhere. And it saves the Pacers money and frees up necessary developmental minutes for our young bigs. I'm sure he'll catch on somewhere, though it's funny how sometimes you see a player bounce around a lot and you assume they're doing something wrong. Not always the case.

Seraphin was a rotation player in our last playoff series. I wouldn't call him a fringe roster player. He was and should be ahead of Al in the rotation.

I'll get pilloried for saying this, but I'm still wondering about Portland's roster and wonder about trading for Myers Leonard as a back-up to Myles. As to the "He sucks!" comments about to fly, I see his game as quite similar to Myles'. He certainly fits the young-and-athletic-with-untapped-potential description. In response to "His 10/3 contract sucks!" complaints, given our cap space over the next few years, would you feel better if we were to land a starting SF as part of the deal? Thad & Al for Harkless, Vonleh & Leonard, perhaps?

He was our 2nd best C. We better have someone as good or better especially with the good chemistry he had with Lance.

They might think they added enough size with Sabonis and Ike. I really don't agree and I don't want to see AlJeff on the floor under any circumstances.
And if Sabonis and Ike can't legitimately beat out Seraphin, they shouldn't be playing.

****, maybe we are tanking...I didn't want to believe it and I don't like it...

It could be that the Pacers believe either of those bring more to the table...and they obviously have more potential...and they cannot have Kevin just ride the bench. So yes, I get it.

Well, he was the one of the last guys signed last year or else he wouldn't have even been in the NBA. Then he gets cut for minor savings the next offseason. I'd call that the very definition of a fringe roster player.

If Myles or Sabonis gets injured, we will be hurtin for certain. Two million for a solid rotational big? I hope there was a good reason.

I know some laugh at this. But Seraphin and Lance made for a REALLY solid duo when they were on the court. And hilarious friendship off of it.

I really hate this move. I think a full year of Lance and Seraphin getting bench minutes would have been awesome.

I sure hope all our young bigs mature quickly... Or Al loses 50 pounds. Or both.

Good luck to Seraphin at Barcelona. They have a nice team. Seraphin, Phil Pressey, Rakim Sanders, Victor Claver, Juan Carlos Navarro, Aleksandar Vezenkov, Petteri Koponen, Ante Tomic, and Radions Kurucs.

Any chance this means Ike is coming along nicely?

A rotation of Sabonis/Leaf and Turner/Ike is about the best thing ever for a rebuild year.

There won't be a good reason.

Seraphin is a valuable backup C. I think he gives you something Sabonis and Ike cannot give you. He's also mobile. No, I don't like it. I wish the Pacers would give a reason.

I am hoping they are finding one of those guys is outplaying him. At least one. I was definitely a Seraphin fan. Huge fan. One of my favorite players since he gelled with Lance.

So long to Kevin. Hope he catches on somewhere. He was a good dude, but from a basketball standpoint, just a guy. I am not going to worry about the Pacers losing anyone that really mattered. He was a third center or an emergency PF. Those guys are a dime a dozen, Pacers can find another guy that does what he does fairly easily. It is too bad that he didn't work out, he was a guy that had some potential.

For some reason, between the August 1st thing on his contract and the reporting of the Barcelona thing, I can't say I'm surprised. Mildly miffed maybe. Not really a big deal though.

I doubt it is Ike, more likely Domantas is scheduled for some minutes at the 5 if Al doesn't work out. Thad, Domantas, Myles and Al should get most of the minutes. I don't see Ike and TJ being ready till the end of the season. TJ needs to get bigger and Ike needs to learn how to play.
