On a 1 year deal - so if they want Thad Young (though I do like Thad a lot) - then sure. Basically be a tryout year for him on if we want him to be a part of our team long term. Only 26 years old - so would be a nice trial run.

If they want more than Thad and change - then probably not.

Young was actually the better player. If Indiana wants an expiring contract after this season, they could. Otherwise, I don't see any real reason. If Favors plays good, then Indiana ends up paying him more than Thad next season, if he happens to opt-in. Personally, I think Thad will have better value as a trade deadline asset.

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?

Favors had the potential to be great but injuries have cost him. I hope he works out and can make some money next offseason, just not here.

How do you guys see the fit next to Myles?

He's 26 already? Wow. The ship sailed on him being a valuable starting PF. Unless it's a star, I don't see the point in taking back guys who are over 24 at this point. I also don't feel we need another big, there are plenty on the roster as is.

If he's healthy he's a big guy that can move and switch on to smaller players. Averaged 16 and 8 from 2014-2016. Minutes dropped last year as he was showing some lingering issues.

if med would check out I think he could fit well. Probably a guy thatt could play 15 minutes or so with Myles and as well as the 15 minutes or so Myles hits the bench.
"man, PG has been really good."

If you could get him without giving up any serious assets I'd say definitely. IMO he'd be an upgrade over Thad especially since I think he'd help the rebounding.

He is worse than Bynum. But I see where you are going. Favors is one injury away from retiring.

I would like to see a trial balloon floated to trade Al Jeff and Seraphim for Favors. Why would Utah do this? They could waive both or stretch Al, bringing their salary below the tax line . We would gain a big man who can play both big positions on a short contract to add some flex to the way we use Myles.

Seraphin is the best back up Center on the team at this time. Favors is injury prone and his career is deteriorating. No thanks. I think there may be better options become available...if not, I would rather go with Seraphin as the back up Center and TYoung/Sabonis/Leaf at PF.

they aren't over tax, if they re-signed Hayward they probably would've been.

Thad is a decent player but a poor compliment to Turner. We we have them on the floor together we have no one who can guard against physical post players. Anyone remember how Whiteside had his way with us?
Favors is a much better complimentary player next to Turner. If we're building around Turner then Favors would be the player I'd want next to him. Favors had a bone bruise last year, it's not like he had a major injury.
Larry Bird qouted March 25th. 2015:

Bird: I wanted to keep our group together because in the summer, if David and Roy opt out, we're back to zero, really. We don't have that much, so you leave your options open. If we did make a trade, I didn't want to take on a lot of contracts -- because that's what usually happens. Plus, I liked my guys. They're playing well. If we keep the core together and Paul comes back healthy, we'll be right back to where we were.
